I just bought Silent Hill Homecoming per Dave's review today, and I'm sitting here bummed out on my couch because the game only allows you to invert your look when aiming, not your general camera movements. This essentially renders the game unplayable for me. Even if I do bite the bullet and play it until I get more used to the camera, a significant amount of enjoyment is automatically removed from the game because I end up having to constantly remind myself of the change, and quick movements with a split second warning will get ruined all the time. Not to mention the fact that this will make going to other games where I am able to invert the look feel weird for a while until my brain adjusts.
Why in the world would a company leave this out, especially when they are partially allowing it when aiming? I don't get it. I did some research and found ALOT of people on forums saying they wouldn't be buying the game because of this. Dave I think you should mention this in your review because I wouldn't have even considered buying it if I had known this...
Why would a company not include an inversion option?

Oh wow. That is good to know. I also can't play a game without the inverted Y axis. It seems so weird to me that people who play that way.

Wow, I never thought I'd find people who actually use the inversion option. I never saw the point of it, for me if you hit up you need to look up, and if you hit down you need to look down. Having stuff do the opposite just messes me up.

Of course it messes you up if your not used to it. I think it depends on how your mind works. I think of the fact that I tilt my head back to look up, just like I tilt the stick back, and that feels more natural to me. It might also have to do with your upbringing as a gamer. I really got locked into that mindset as a kid playing Aliens on the Commodore 64, which opens with a flying section that uses an inverted Y axis...

I'm with you. Gotta have inverted, going back to Goldeneye on the 64.
Dumb they didn't make it an option. Is there a downloaded patch for this?

I see what you're saying but technically up isn't up, if you know what I mean. Since you hold the controller horizontally it's actually pushing forward to go up, backwards to go down. Like Paul said with tilting your head, forward is down, back is up. Same logic was used to design how pilots fly their airplanes. see we weird inversion types are cool like fighter pilots.

From what I read a lot of people complained about it and Konami blamed the development company, and the development company threw it back at Konami. No patch was released. Seems like the easiest thing in the world to include...
