Re: What reviews do you get excited about?
My favorite reviews are around the NES-PSX era of games. It is very hard to find reviews for some of the more obscure games and I don't play too many games before that era. It also seems that Dave has more fun with games from the 6th Generation and earlier so I find the reviews more informative.

Re: What reviews do you get excited about?
As stated by others, I get stoked for the classic game reviews: 2600, 5200, 7800, INTV, CV. I've read about the Astrocade, Fairchild F, and Odyssey, but never owned these, so it's always cool to learn about these games.
I know I've mentioned this before in other threads about how much I enjoyed VGC's Swordquest reviews, but when I was a kid I read a lot in gaming magazines about the Swordquest series for the 2600. There was a Swordquest competition and the winner got a diamond amulet worth 25K. However, I knew nothing about the games themselves. When I started coming here regularly in the early 2000's, I was really excited to see that VGC reviewed Swordquest Earthworld and Fireworld. VGC absolutely hated these games, and the reviews were so funny and so sarcastic that I laughed out loud multiple times. 15 years later, and these are still in my top 5 favorite reviews. Just classic.

You're in luck Gleebergloben!
I plan to review Swordquest Waterworld as soon as the weather warms up (seasonal correctness).
