Well I could charge $1/month or something like that for full access to the site. This would limit my exposure however, which may not be a good idea. I'm not really seriously thinking about it - just tossing ideas out there.

If you are using ad blockers, please try to use my ebay/amazon links at least. Whenever you're about to buy something on those sites, just click on ANY one of my ebay or amazon links. Ignore what item it takes you to, and search for what you really want. I will still get a referral fee at no cost to you.

I've been reading some disturbing things about some malicious ads out there. You would expect the ad company to vet these ads but apparently they don't!

What if I dispensed with the ads and just included a paypal link so people could contribute a few bucks at their own discretion? Do you think that would work??

I have never had an issue with your ads however I know that what you said is true. Some ads do contain viruses and malware. I would be willing to chip in a few dollars here and there because I've been a member of the site for a long time. Normally, I wouldn't but I would for this site. Have you thought of maybe creating a patreon? I'm not sure whether donations or patreon might help but then again it's also based upon how much you actually make on ads for the site in addition to how many people bother to contribute. Might be worth a shot though. I'll support whatever. I appreciate you taking your users into consideration instead of just mindless spamming ads.

I would support a paypal donation link.

I think you could even plan a burst of reviews, articles, or rpg/c64 reviews to coincide with a short term push for donations. This is a fun long lived independent site, with lots of content we currently consume for free.

You could do like wikipedia - try the PayPal link for a couple weeks every so often. I bet you would see a nice surge.

Apparently the donate button is for non-profit fundraisers so I don't think my site would apply.
