I am sure everyone has their own list of critically acclaimed/popular video games you have little to no interest to own/play and why, as either the game is not your cup of tea, the game genre is not your favorite, the game has expensive DLC/Season Pass/Micro-transactions, the subject matter, the fanbase/community, etc. So it will be fun to have people say what their list of critically acclaimed/popular video games you have little to no interest to own/play and why?
Here are my top pics.
Call of Duty series/Halo/FPS games as a whole!: Not only are FPS games my least favorite video game genre out their, but they put me to sleep, with their unfun gameplay, auto regenerating health in a lot of the newer FPS games like Call of Duty series/Halo, etc. I also am not a big online multiplayer gamer and do not want to deal with their terrible community, that are filled with 10 year old kids that swear F words at you every 5 seconds, and I am not alone, as a lot of people are against FPS games just like I am and often think it is the genre that killed most of the video game industry, and Call of Duty is the same awful game being milked over and over with the same engine, graphics, gameplay, etc. I could go on and on, but here are more.
Toys to life games such as Skylanders Disney Infinity and Lego Dimensions: These games milk you to death and are too expensive, and are getting very abusive at this point, and with that money, I could buy many retro games for much less then I would buy the starter packs for these games, and have more fun with them as well.
League of Legends: I am not a PC gamer, and have little to no interest to play this game, also it has a very bad community that also makes this game unappealing to me, filled with the infamous annoying PC Master Race snobs.
MMO games: They are expensive, and they don't look like my cup of tea similar to League of Legends and other games that I am not into for obvious reasons.
Realistic Sports/Racing games: These games are either too boring, or too complicated and they are not my cup of tea give me NBA Jam/Mario Kart type games any day of the week over boring repetitive stuff like FIFA/Madden/2K games.
Realistic Open World Games: These games are just huge worlds to explore with no real structure, and the games themselves just are not for me, sorry GTA/Rockstar games fans, they are not my cup of tea.
Simulation games like sim city/the sims, etc.: Too complicated and not my cup of tea similar to PC in mind genres/games such as League of Legends/MMO/FPS, etc.
Most Stealth games, these games are like a tedious game of hide and go seek, and the games are not my cup of tea because of this, the only Stealth games I like are the MSX Metal Gear games, and games that have it as a secondary element such as the Batman Arkham series, and the Sly Copper games. Also the later Metal Gear games have nonsensical story lines that put me to sleep with long cut scenes that make Peter Jackson blush.
Assassin's Creed: aka the Call of Duty of Action games with the same graphics, gameplay, engine, and these games are overrated piles of garbage that put me to sleep.
Lego Games after Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga: This series is the Call of Duty of platformers with the same dated engine, graphics, gameplay over and over, the games are not bad, but after a while you get sick of them because they are the same thing over and over again with little to no change or variation.
I have more, but I would like to here what you guys have for your list of critically acclaimed video games you have little to no interest to own/play and why?
I am sure people like JustLikeHeaven would agree with most of my list above, and add stuff like the new new Tomb Raider games from 2013 to the present moment in my list, as I agree with JustLikeHeaven on what you said about the recent Tomb Raider games for the same reason.

I agree except I love open world games and realistic sports games.
The games I have no interest in are the "online only games". Titanfall and Plants vs Zombies 2 are games I can say with certainty that I'll never play. I'll never play call Call of Duty online, but maybe some day I'll pick those games up and play em for a few minutes like I did with Gears of War.

So you hate shooters, MOBAs, MMOs, sports sims, racing sims, open world games, PC sims, and stealth games, and you mention that there are more? You must have a hell of a time finding anything to play.

I do have video games that I do enjoy, and do not have a hard time finding anything to play.
The games I usually like are Action Games, Platformers, Action RPGS, Arcade type games in general, Action Adventure, SHMUPS, Fighting games, Puzzle Games that are Arcade like, Quirky Unique games, etc.
My game taste are similar to Dave the Video Game Critic for the most part.

I forgot to mention games that are online only, as I do not support DRM physical games because of this reason.
I also do not like Free to play games that nickel and dime you with Microtransactions like Las Vegas, in the vain of Candy Crush Saga, that is why I am not a fan of most mobile iOS/Android games, the only games I do like on the iOS/Android market are usually on dedicated consoles/handhelds such as Angry Birds, Cut the Rope, etc, as those games have been ported to the 3DS/Vita if applied, and get rid of the lame Microtransactions in those versions.

Any of these huge open world games like Fallout, Elder Scrolls, or Witcher. Ain't got time for all that. Give me some sense of direction and hold my hand a little.
Any Final Fantasy game except Mystic Quest.

Most of what the Smartphone gaming scene offers. I can find maybe one or two puzzle games on Android/iOS/Windows Phone before giving up.

I'm the opposite. Now that I've gotten a taste for free exploration and open worlds I have a hard time going back to an on rails sort of game. After hearing all the rave reviews for The Last of Us I had to give it a shot. I admit the graphics and story is awesome, but I feel like I'm playing an interactive movie. I want to play a game and be able to make decisions and choose my own path.

Same here. Games like mega man are perfect. Linear, but give you some sense of minimal decision making. Even, super metroid, as awesome as it is, has a bit too much back tracking for me.
