Good lord. Do you have to be a wet blanket in every thread that you participate in?

Don't like it? Don't read it. Keep it movin, son. Quote my entire post if you're going to quote me.

People seem to think they have an early retirement in their midst. Baloney. Sell them and post the proof. Otherwise you're dreaming. Hope the whole market collapses HARD. A hobby I used to like turned into hot garbage. An e-peen contest to see who has the biggest collection or "rarest" items. Don't care, I play them. The retro game market can smooch my pimply behind.

I mean, when I was a kid and I collected baseball cards and comic books, I thought it was just fun to buy a price guide and look up how much things were (supposedly) worth. I had no intention of getting rich, and I doubt anyone else here does now. I still read my comics irrespective of what they were worth; I didn't put them behind a glass case. The baseball card market HAS collapsed, but I'm still excited to flip through my old cards every once in a while.

Silveryfire cracks me up. He is the ultimate "wet blanket". But his complaining about everything is quite humorous to me. If he won a million bucks in the lottery he'd probably complain it wasn't two million. But I think he is refreshing and funny. Unlike my ex wife who complains all the time and is anything but refreshing or funny!

I have a complete copy of Skullmonkeys (PlayStation), though it's not in the best condition. It usually goes for about $40-70 on eBay, at least for the NTSC version.

I think Panzer Dragoon Saga is still my most valuable game. I have many of the expensive Sega Saturn titles: Dragon Force, Magic Night Rayearth, Burning Rangers, Albert Odyssey, Shining Force III, House of the Dead, and on and on. The best part is that I bought most of those games--including Panzer Dragoon Saga--and several other expensive Saturn games not listed there from one collector for just $220 in the mid-2000s, just because he was off-loading his collection. Couldn't believe it when I stumbled across that Craigslist ad, and the fact that no one else had claimed it yet. PDS alone was going for that price at the time.

I had Snatcher for awhile too, but sold that this past year for about 3 times what I had paid. As much as we complain about the rise in game prices over the years, I guess it has its perks too...
