That's a great point that "Herschie" makes, and I hadn't even thought of that. I remember a time when there were so many sports games I couldn't even keep track of them. There were American football games I'd never even heard of. That's crazy to think about now. And I was a die hard sports fan then too, so that's really an amazing fact.

I would have to agree on scotland and the Critic on what they have said, I used to obsessively play light gun, beat em ups, and scrolling shooters. I have mostly forgotten about those genres in recent years mostly because those genres are gone.
Those types of games were ridiculous, silly fun you couldn't help but love. Unfortunately today's consumer demands that every game be serious and dark. While there are plenty of serious games I like, not every game needs to be like that.

From what I've heard, Platinum is ONLY responsible for the combat and the creator of the original game is handling the rest of the design, so it should retain the RPG elements of the first game.

DaHeckIzDat wrote:Herschie, out of curiosity, what do you think other developers would do that the two big franchises aren't? I'm not a sports fan, so maybe I'm missing something, but sports games don't really seem like a genre that needs a ton of different franchises.
Force the Sony and SCEA to step it up. Madden has been sort of bland, and The Show this year is rather glitchy. Competition does wonderful things.
