Do you see the marketing? "Leaderboards * Multiplayer * Online" lo que pasa con eso?
First, we played for High Scores, not for spots on leaderboards - leaderboards were for old people playing golf. Second , most of the included games like Adventure, Asteroids, Missile Command, Night Driver, etc are all single player games. Multiplayer was a strong minority of games. What is online? There weren't even bulletin boards associated with the 2600, so scratch any authentic experience. Is it an online high score board, because you competed to be best at the arcade, not the nation and beyond. Is it online multiplayer? Do you really want to play Outlaw with some random gamer on the internet? Is this for people who are that bad at making friends they need the internet to play 3D Tic Tac Toe? Its like they are trying way too hard to sell a 1977 Plymouth Volare.
They are marketing on the Atari art, with not a screen shot to be seen. The Amazon webpage doesn't even have screenshots or a video of gameplay. The artwork is genuine Atari, but many people have looked back and called that artwork hilariously deceptive.

The back of the Atari 2600 boxes usually had a screen shot, and it was well understood the painted art was just setting the tone. The artwork is part of the charm of early systems, but its amusing they there is not a screenshot to be found! No 3rd party or licensed games either. What is the draw here - Video Chess in stunning 1080p and 60 frames per second?
I think I will wait for the Complete Virtual Reality Edition.
