well that's good you were able to get one. I read one theory about them not restocking these for fear of it interfering with switch sales?
Kinda mad for some reason that these aren't readily in stock, just for the people who genuinely want one, and aren't scalpers. I don't necessarily want one, but it would be cool to have. I'm wondering if we will ever be able to walk into Target on a random Saturday at 2pm and see a shelf full of these.

Nintendo reported selling 1.5 million of these worldwide already.

Re: Miniature NES with 30 built-in games
I was fortunate to find one of these a month ago at my local Walmart when I walked in after work. It must've been sheer luck as I haven't seen another one at any other store since. I like it a lot but it's not worth more than $60, and definitely not worth the scalper prices. The emulation, while far better than the Wii U Virtual Console, isn't up to par with the real system. I suppose emulation never really is how we remember the games to be. I swear the sound effects on Super Mario Bros don't sound 100% like they did in my memories of hundreds of hours of playing that game that are burned into my brain. The coin sound in particular seems to ring far too long and sounds rather tinny.
It's still a pretty fun toy though, the controller feels authentic, and there's no denying that the graphics are sharp and beautiful. I'd love it if Nintendo would replace the Wii U's horrible NES emulator with the emulator they used for the NES Classic but they've pretty much left the Wii U for dead at this point.
You can tell the difference in graphical emulation quality from the comparison shots I posted below between the Wii U Virtual Console over HDMI and the NES Classic over HDMI on the same TV. I don't have the real Dr. Mario cart anymore, and my original NES no longer works, so I don't know which one looks more accurate to me but is it just me or does the Wii U Virtual Console version look like ass?
The top photo is the Wii U, the bottom photo is the NES Classic. Also, even though the receiver is on for the Wii U photo, that's only for the audio, the Wii U's HDMI itself is plugged directly into the TV like the Classic is (because my old receiver only has two HDMI inputs so I use those for more worthy devices and haven't bought a splitter yet...).

I wasnt interested in it at 30 games, but now they found a way to fit the entire library on it. Though I have the entire NES library on my Wii, I think its worth it now just for the upscaling.

I agree that it's a fun toy for $60. I play about 15-30 minutes a night and it's just right for me. I'm mostly interested in Punch Out, Zelda, and learning to Speedrun Mario 3.
May still pick up a 3DS...

Unfortunately you will probably have issues with Punch Out because of lag. It's probably the most lag sensitive game on the system.

Press down to block when he ducks down to do his uppercut. This will stun him and you can punch to get a star. Using star punches on him will knock him down instantly. You can do this twice before he starts dodging star punches, but it will give you two quick knockdowns.
