Halo 5

Postby BlasteroidAli » July 16th, 2016, 2:58 pm

So last week it was free to play for a whole week. So I put the disc in and at 54 meg a second it took 5 hours for me to download the patch.
Then I looked on the hard drive and the game is now 87gigabytes. 87. One of my friends who did not have cable said it took 3 days to download with his console on for 72 hours.
Think of that when you next put the game in Critic.

I'm arguably the biggest Halo fan on these boards due to a weekly LAN. But 343/Microsoft really is clueless as to what made the franchise great. 87 GB for a campaign that has less than 3 levels with you playing as the chief, no LAN support, no split screen for any type of local play and most features only released months after the fact.

For anyone looking to pick this game up I highly encourage you to buy it used to avoid giving Microsoft/343 any of your money.

What a complete crock!
Give these publishers an inch, they will take a mile.
The thing is, I'm sure it would be possible to squeeze the whole thing on a disc and load it from that.
But why should they if gamers are will to put up with this kind of inconvenience?

When a game prompts me to download an update, my response is always HELL NO.
It's bad enough I have to make room on my hard disk to install a new game.
I don't have time to do that for every update!

Haha. Yeah, my brother and I thought we'd go online and play a bit of the campaign the other week. After I put it in and saw the download size I called him and told him it would be a few days before I would be able to play the game. Ridiculous.

I can vouch for the horribly long download and install time. Just got the game and popped it in the tray at about 7:30 Saturday morning. Didn't get to play Halo until about 2:00 PM, at which point I wasn't in the mood anymore!
