I think the PS1, PS2, and the PS3 really were the trifecta standard for console gaming. Say what you want about the xbox, but those three systems really perfected the norms that we use in console gaming.

SEGA Genesis / Mega Drive is the best video game console ever made, with a library of more than one thousand games. With backwards compatibility whith the Master System and add-ons (Sega CD and 32X) the library available reaches almost two thosand games). In terms of playability and funfactor is difficult to beat those games, even with modern machines. Besides that colsole has many of the best soundtracks of all time and some of the most revolutionary games in the video game history.
