First of all, Saturn you are an immature fool.

Ok, I have been thinking that it really doesn't matter, does it! People are going to buy the Wii, 360 and the PS3 no matter what any of us think. At the end of the day the Wii isn't for me but neither was the DS (I sold mine) but look! Nintendo is selling millions of them! Now I don't think Nintendo is going to gain the market share that they have with the DS. Particularly b/c when the DS launched it was the only handheld system out there outside of the GBA. Obviously, they have much more competition in this realm.

After I bashed Excite Truck I got thinking of the time I bought Full Auto for the 360. I bought it after I read the VGC's review, who was basically the only person that had anything good to say about it. When I bought it the clerk was like "dude, this game sucks". I bought it anyway of course and loved the game. It is one of my favorite 360 games for sure.

So basically what I am driving at is that I hated ExciteBike...so did "SaturnChild X" but you may love it. Buy the system, buy the games, if  you love them, great, if not how well there is always Zelda and the other N-Franchises.

That's what I like about you, Shawn.  You're never too deep into the argument to forget the big picture.  I was just thinking the same thing earlier today after I posted a few things on the site.  Good form.

Ign finally did a review on one of the bigger launch titles...Rayman Raving Rabbids.  The game scored an 8.3.  After reading the review it really seems that they nitpicked the hell out of the game.  The biggest problem that they mention is that not enough of the multiplayer games take place simultaneously...rather they are done in turns.  The other gripe is that the game doesn't support progressive scan.  Its not like the game looks stunning anyway.    It was a strange review and the finally score didn't seem to reflect what was written about the game.

Read the review and see for yourself...

http://wii.ign.com/articles/746/746378p2.html

So far these are the rating for the games

Wii Sports - 7.5
Trauma Center - 8.0
Super Monkey Ball - 8.4
Call of Duty 3 - 7.7
Excite Truck - 8.0 (Gamespot - 6.8)
Tony Hawk DHJ - 7.0
Rayman Raving Rabbids - 8.3

Was anybody close with their guesses?

The newest reviews are as follows

The Legend of Zelda - 9.5 (ign) 8.8 (gamespot)
Madden (8.5) ign
Red Steel (5.5) gamespot
Rampage total destruction (5.1) gamespot

The review for Madden on ign really makes me want to buy that game.  It sounds terrific.  This little blurb speaks volumes of how good this game is compared to the other versions

"Passing rocks, maneuvering on the field is amazingly intuitive and fast, and everyone that got their hands on Madden 07 had a blast. One editor stated that Madden 07 for Wii was the first game that truly convinced him to pick up a Wii for himself. Mind you, we've been playing games like Wii Sports and Zelda: Twilight Princess over the last few weeks, and this editor isn't a fan of the Madden series at all. If you want your answer to whether or not Madden 07 is a perfect fit for Wii, you just got it."

I think this is the highest rating (8.5) Madden 07 has gotten on any system this year.

They did that with Zelda, too. I honestly think they are concerned they overhyped the games, and are correcting themselves by giving them a little lower than they wanted to.

Just another small update...

Marvel Ultimate Alliance - 7.1 on gamespot.  It states that the lack of online support REALLY hurt the package.  It also mentioned that the controls made your arm tired.

Dragon Ball Z - 8.3 on IGN.  This game scored higher than Rayman Raving Rabbids and Trauma Center.  This is why IGN baffles me so much.  I'm sure DBZ is a good game, but I had read early reports that the controls were pretty bad.  The final copy must have made a better impression.

After all the major games have launched I will make one final list (taken from Gamerankings.com) and we can see who had the best guesses at the launch titles.  I really wish the reviews would come out quicker though.

Ok, its plenty of time to get all the reviews out, lets see how I did.

I assume you mean the gamerankings average.   It's hard to tell, but I guess I can Try.  Keep in mind that a 75% is about average there.

Zelda 94%   This is the big game coming out so I expect Nintendo to put their heart into it.  The videos have been amazing for it

Gamerankings Score = 94.8% difference .8% I was dead on as expected

Metal Slug Collection -77%   This game will probably be underrated just because it's 2d.   If this collection has good emulation, it will be nothing short of one of the greatest classic games collections ever and I would give it a 90% or higher.   But that isn't gonna change the fact that it is gonna get a lower score than it should.
Gamerankings Score 74 percent - Difference +3%  I was right, they would underate it because its 2d.  But they did it even farther than I thought they would.  Some people need to be fired

Rayman Raving Rabbids - 75%   Its strangeness might  cause it to have lower reviews
Gamerankings Score - 76.8 percent.  Differnce -1.8  I was dead on again.  but it does look interesting

Red Steel -  68 %    Early reports haven't been very kind to this game.   Hopefully I am wrong.

Gamerankings Score -  64.9 percent Differnce +3.1 percent  Looks like I was close to dead on, but appearently it was even worse

Excite Truck - 78 %  It certainly looks interesting, but I don't know how deep this game will be.

GameRankings Score - 74.4 percent Differnce +3.6 percent.  This time, I overestimated reviewers ability to underrate games because of lack of options

Elebits - 64 %   I don't get the point of this game, and I don't think the critics will also.  Hopefully I'm wrong, but from what I have seen so far, this game appears to be a physics demo.

Gamerankings Score -75.5 percent Difference 11.5 percent.  Way off on this one.   It looks interesting and I will be renting it.  Sorry for trashing it.

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Ball Blitz -  73% the wii remote will be interesting, but I don't know if this game will offer anything new. Also the last monkey ball game was a major flop.
Gamerankings Score - 72.9 percent Differnce .1 percent.  Considering I didn't get into 1/10ths of a percent, I will call this a perfect score

Wii Sports 82%   - I don't think Nintendo would be stupid enough to include a garbage game with its system.   But I think it's lack of depth will keep out of the 90s.
Gamerankings score 76.7 - Differnce 5.3 Percent.  I expected this to get overrated because its the pack in game.  Looks like I over estimated by how much. I hate this game.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Double Agent - 84% This game is getting good reviews on the other systems, so it should do good on the Wii.  Hopefully the controls work for it.
GameRankings score - 60 percent Difference 24 percent!  I failed at this one, and so did Ubisoft at making this game.  Im glad I rented the 360 version instead.

Far Cry Vengeance 83% - This game could be a sleeper hit.   Every game in the Far Cry universe has been great so I have high hopes for this one.

Gamerankings Score - 37.5 Difference - 46.5 percent Oh God, what a disaster.   Ubisoft how did you manage to pull this off?

Tony Hawk Downhill Jam - 73%  Downhill is definatly where this series has been going lately.  And I don't think this is the game to turn it around.
Gamerankings score 69.8 Difference - 3.1 percent.  Well I was certainly close

Trauma Center: Second Opinion  83%   The Wii remote should be kind to this game, and it has quite a following on the DS.  I'm looking foward to it.
Gamerankings Score - 80.1 percent Difference 2.1 Percent I nailed it

Madden 07 - 82%  Early reports have been kind to this game, but I expect a lack of features to keep it from getting a higher score.

81 percent.  Difference - .3 percent.  Nailed it again, sometimes reviewers are predictable.

Looks like I got all but three of them within in an acceptable range.  Maybe I need to start gambling.

I'd save your money. I find that most reviews put games in the 6.5 to 8.5 range, so its pretty easy to guess.

But, Elebits was the clear "sleeper" in the bunch.
