Do any shooters have endings worth rememberin?  No.  I have beaten countless shooters and i can tell you i really dont remember any of the endings.
Well, one ending in Gunbird is pretty memorable. If you beat the game with the old guy, you can see an ending where he's reunited with his gay lover.
Yeah, I find it amusing that game companies show the credits as a "reward" for finishing the game. Hell, if anything, it's punishment to watch those thing!
Agreed. Game Developers try to make software that entertain us. But sometimes they forget that. Nearly all games have at least one thing that is NOT entertaining, and being forced to watch boring lengthy credits is one of them.

Allow us to speed-up or skip the credits. Make the credits at game-end a reward, not a punishement. How?   Throw in a mini-game as the credits roll. Or take a page from Pixar's films and throw extra scenes into the credits -- that always makes it worthwhile.  I remember the Panzer Dragoon end credits -- you get some names, then a gorgeous full-screen shot of game dev art.  Everything in a game should be there to entertain us, or not put in there at all!

The credit roll during Sonic 2 is cool.  There is a techno song thrown together from all the level music in the game that plays througout.  I'm trying to track down that soundclip as we speak.  It probably didn't take much work to put that together, but it makes me sit through the credits without complaint everytime.

The best game ending I can recall is Bionic Commando for the NES.  I just thought it was cool.

Super Monkey Ball's ending is fun.... a race through banana's dodging dropping credits.

Strider's ending was cool... for the time... (I love the music to this game although the VGC says nothing about it in his review)

Out of this World was such a cool game, the lame "climb onto the bird and fly into the sunset ending" was terrible.

Cubivore's is pretty cool. You can see all the animals you rule over after you beat it.

I can't remeber most... that should tell you something.

Bionic Commando.... name another NES game where the resurrected corpse of Hitler says a swear word before his head graphically explodes...

I still think Ninja Gaiden and Ninja Gaiden 2 have the best NES endings I've seen.  I wouldn't know anything about the ending to NG3 though, because it is so freaking hard that it makes me want to send a Unabomber package to Tecmo everytime I get up the courage to play it.

I haven't played as many games as ya'll, but I remember feeling the most pumped up about the last boss battle in SNES Metroid.  When that gigantic metroid helps you out and then you get the hyper beam....I get chill bumps just thinking about it.

If I recall, the same thing happens at the end of "Kirby's Adventure"...

I love how choppy the translations get in the final compound in Bionic Commando. To me, it somehow added to the tension of the game, you are correct, Creaville, it is an awesome ending, and a perfect lengthed game. Reasonably tough, never cheap and you can get all the continues you want. Great game design.

I hate how on Zelda games, you are always stuck on your last save before you beat the game. Maybe I want to take a victory lap around Hyrule when it doesn't look like a crummy wastland (OoT) Nintendo!! It's even worse on Majora's Mask, its always Groundhog day, and I got all of 5 minutes to enjoy how nice the game looks when the "evil magic" is destroyed in a certain area, and now I have to go back in time again, and it is gone.

Why can't I ride Yoshi at the end of SM64? And she bakes Mario a CAKE for all his trouble?!? On the DS remake I was certain the 4th characther door would be Peach as a playably charachter bonus for getting all 150 stars. But, no it was just another star.
