You know you're a retro gamer when
...you open a drawer and find sealed controllers you never remember getting
...you forget just how many consoles you own

I do this with almost all of my collections. In fact, just the other day I bought a sealed action figure only to get home and open the box where I keep that line to find I already had it. I have also dont that with games, which Is why I had to create a list. There is just way too much to remember at times.

When you know where all the warp whistles are in Super Mario 3, but can't name more than 10 games from the current generation.

... you get really excited about finding a boxed vintage console, and spend more time reading the box and included literature than ever playing the system.

... you have honestly considered spending $100+ on a game you know is bad because you "need" it.

You thought that a yellow square was a dragon slayer.

You are amazed that the Golden Age of arcades was 35 years ago.

You were convinced that the Mattel Electronics Football handheld was the pinnacle of gaming.

You spent hundreds of bucks on the 2600's Quadrun because the game said "Quadrun" a whopping 3 times.

You think of the SNES and Genesis as "newer" systems.

When you care more about how a new console functions OFFLINE than ONLINE.

............When you eyeball games at thrift stores you already own.

...........When you have dozens of games you bought just to have, and haven't played them.

You've actually played every single good game for your favorite console, no matter what genre they are, and can make a great case for why everyone should at least try the average and bad ones.

The bad habits that represents are why you'll never reach the end of your "To play" list.

You don't care that it's better in MAME.

You still think Megaman 2 takes place in the future, instead of 8 years ago.
