By the way I am just playing around although the third party support is a bit lacking.....where is it????????????????

[/QUOTE]

Shawn, the Wii has plenty of third party support. In fact Ubisoft is porting at least 5 other games to it. Seriously though, I think its third party support will pick up once developers see how popular it is (it is pretty popular despite whether you like it or not). I think it will steadily increase in popularity the same way the DS did. Of course if it is similar to the DS you still won't like it.

All I am saying is then when I look at the upcoming Wii games for 2007 I see zero third party games I am interested in. The Wii is popular? It is going to take a lot more sales for third parties to believe in Nintendo's little machine. I mean, it may be popular but better games have to come out for it. Like I said, take away Zelda and there isn't anything on the Wii I can't get on my 360 or my PS2.

Funny how you skipped Raving Rabbits, one of the best selling, and a well reviewed, Wii titles.

The second part of what you said is actually a critique of the PS3.  You didn't even say "PS3".  You're comparing the Wii to the other real consoles, and leaving the PS3 out entirely.
In any case, I like Zelda plenty on my Gamecube, so I certainly don't see that as much of a reason to buy a Wii.  Raving Rabbits, Wii Sports, and Excite Truck are the games that have been selling me on the system.  But then, I won't really take the plunge until I see Heroes for the thing anyway.

Good point, Raving Rabbits is a good game with friends but personally Mini-games usually don't do it for me. The game is good though and really  highlights the Wii's controller. I see a WarioWare game is out for the Wii....more mini games. I need to see MORE from this system!

Atari, in Shawn's defense, the ps3 dropped essentially toe to toe with the Wii, while the 360 has been out for an entire year. The Wii has some games the 360 has while the ps3's modest library either has exclusives or ports of 360 titles. Personally, though I am loving the Wii so far, it is somewhat disheartening to see the Wii get friggin' PS2 ports!!! Come on, don't port games you could have simply ported to the GC!! Padding a library with half-baked ideas is NOT going to sell a system! Also, the GC had plenty of ports but what it really lacked was compelling EXCLUSIVE third party content. Also, they went after the wrong ports. I know the tired excuse that GTA is overrated and not the type of game typical to Nintendo but, with millions of copies sold, it would have helped a ton! Having GTA, a port of Max Payne, etc. would have gone a long way. I read something that sort of angered me on IGN and, if true, will tell me that Nintendo has NOT learned their lesson from last time! In the N-query section, somebody brought up the good point of Metroid Prime 3 originally being in the launch window and asking if the game had been delayed to the holiday to which the editor replied "probably delayed until 2nd or 3rd quarter of this year." I know delays can be good and all, as Zelda proved, but you can't have NOTHING for months and then put one title out. Can anybody remember a month, outside of launch, where Nintendo had multiple great titles for a console? I don't want Metroid Prime 3 in August, only to have to wait until Xmas to pick up Mario Galaxy! A great game every four to seven months is too long of a stretch, and this is coming from a hardcore Nintendo freak! Come on, Nintendo, don't screw with the occasional exclusive, work with third parties as sales are not even enough in this day and age. The GBA/DS have sold phenomenally but even the worthwhile third party support for both are severely lacking. Nintendo had a great idea last round by handing certain franchises to certain developmental houses.....let's do that again but pick better developers this go round. Do NOOOOOTTTT give Kuju, or whoever it was, the Batallion Wars franchise this round!!!

NO NO NO, you keep the arguing about nothing outside this thread.  I'm sorry I even commented on it.

You must have not noticed this . That indicates I was joking. Ubisoft is currently just porting a lot of games, but like Atarifever said, you left out Rayman, one of the best games on Wii.

Also, Shawn saying the Wii has nothing seems like an exaggeration. I would have still purchased my Wii and the 4 other games I had for it if Zelda wasn't there. I was excited about the Wii before I ever heard Twilight Princess was coming at launch. There must have been some reason for that.

I don't like mini party games so I Raving Rabbits doesn't interest me.  I would rather play the other two Ubisoft games I mentioned.
