The officially official new games thread

I figured it was high time we had a thread for just announced or near to release games.  Since we have none.  I'll try my best to update this whenever anything worth posting breaks.  Hopefully this encourages some fun chit chat.

Ghost recon advanced war fighter 2 360 (shown) wii ps3

Decent (IE not mag scans) just broke for this game and it's increadibly impressive.  After the first GRAW I'm sure expectations are running high but this is showing a lot promise.

Cipher Complex 360,ps3

Very little is known about this one, other than it's something to keep an eye out for.  I'm just pleased to see some new comers to the quickly stagnating stealth genre.

Hellboy 360 (so far)

The first hellboy title since the laughable ps1 entry is slated for next year.  Will this be as bad as the ps1 game?  Doubtful, in any event hellboy fans should be pleased.

No more heroes (wii)

Some more details are finally breaking on this title.  Evidently you are free to explore the town to your liking, taking on missions to collect money and buy new weapons as you work up towards the 10 main killing contracts. Gameplay seems to eb pure hack and slash.  People who liked killer 7 (AKA atarifever) should stick with this one.

Star wars lethal alliance Ds/psp (psp shown)

The first stand alone star wars game for the handhelds in some timethe seems to have had effort put into it, LA bridges the gap between 3 and 4.  Honestly this looks really bad, but I'm putting up all the new games not just the good ones.

Bullet witch 360

Why this clunker is hoping the pond I'm not sure.  Sins anyone I've talked that ahs played the game has pretty much called it wretched.  But it may be worth a few laughs with the bad reviews It will no doubt garner.  2007 bomber man act 0?  You bet.

Oh yeah, I'm all over it.  Sadly, I had to take a break from Killer 7, for the same reason I took long breaks in reading "The Watchmen".  It's too much to take in at once for me.  As the difficulty I left at was one I was comfortable at, I'll lkely go back to finish it soon.  In any case, I'm more excited about this one than most of the rest of the next gen.

Also, great idea for a thread.  Hopefully it lasts longer than your all to short-lived Saturn Buyer's guide (which I was enjoying before you gave up on it).

Elebits just came out on Wii if you'd like to add that, and Warioware Smooth Moves and Wii Play are coming in January. Also, Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin just came out for DS. I hope that No More Heroes game does swordfighting right. Good idea ssx.

Well I'm glad you guys like it.  Oh and the reason I stopped the buyers guide is I was losing interest in the saturn again, if I ever get back into (very likely) it I'll start up again.

Battle stations midway 360

I can't tell you how much I'm lookign forward to this one.  I have gotten to see the game play in action and it appears to be batallion wars done right as far as I can tell.  You get to be supreme commander, pilot and captain all at once.  This is a day one purchase for me.

Castlevania portrait of ruin DS

Some may argue that this is just a re-hash of last years metroid vania.  But it's a darn good re-hash even if it is.  The ds game of the season (for me anyway).

Elibits

Feelings on this one are all over the map.  Some say tech-demo some say it could be the next katamari.  I'm inclined to think and hope for the latter because the art style is increadibly charming.  And the gameplay sounds neat even if limited, hopefully it will be good arcade fun.

Super swing golf wii

This game appears to be a blatant attempt by tecmo to rip off hot shots golf.  But at least they are picking the best, and the wii works well enough with golf.

Lost planet

While the multiplayer is getting panned by many gamers the single player still looks great.  And personally this and battle stations midway will be spinning in my360 well into march.

Man, the 360 has it al over the PS3 at the minute doesn't it.  I think they're making good use of their head start, with a ton of great stuff coming out.  What a solid looking lineup.  It reminds me of the PSP vs. DS lineup for the first 6 months or so after the PSP hit.

Or the whole time they've been out. The PSP's getting a few good games, the new Metal Gear Solid especially, but the DS has a much better library.

I was trying to avoid the inevitable controversy if I stated things exactly as they were and not as some people would have them be, so I aimed for a less contestable way of putting it.  However, you had to go and bring the truth into this, so I imagine now it'll be a debate that we've all grown tired of.

Sorry. I'll shut up now. Responses to my post from shawn (and possibly math) will be ignored.

Japanese edition

Necro Nesia-wii

Necro here is still on for a U.s release, if that holds true is hard to say.  It's pretty clear the game looks like a 2001 ps2/cube game.  And it sold roughly 1000 copies at launch with the wii in japan.  So I wouldn't hold your breath for this one.

SD gundam wii

It's starting to seem that all namco makes anymore is gundam games and ridge racer.  And since they clearly feel no need to break this pattern since no matter how awful the gundam games are they sell.  And here is yet another gundam game.

Blue Dragon 360

One of the few 360 games to sell well in japan Blue Dragon will most likely make a splash among the american (or euro) F-chans out there.  Pretty much a out and out rpg, if that's your bag well enjoy.

Virtua fighter 5

I think the biggest question on most VF fans minds is why no online play?  I only wish I knew, but I'm sure this will be as great a fighter as ever.  Just don't expect to play against more than bots or your chums.

Just going to have to nitpick at a few things here;

1) Bandai owns/owned the rights to the Gundam series, so even if Namco and Bandai did merge you can't blame Namco for this.

2) Namco does a LOT more than just Ridge Racer (hell, there was like a four year gap between five and six). For exampe, the Tales series is still going strong, Soul Calibur, Pac Man, and Katamari (whether or not this will be continued is questionable),
