Picture warning!

How about WARNING us when you put up a thread that contains LOTS of graphics(photos)!!??? Not all of us have a new PC! I am using an 5+ year old iMac that struggles just to get ONLINE. When I tried to get on a photo heavy thread just now, my imac started grinding away, loading a scanline a minute, and I could not back out. So I had to reboot. PLEASE, just say (Graphics!) or (Contains photos!) or something. They do this on other forums like DP. It only takes a second. Thank you!

No offense Alienblue, but it sounds more like a problem with your ISP than your computer... although I've never owned an Apple computer.  Are you using dial-up or broadband?  The computer I'm on right now is at least 4 years old, but I have another that's well over 8 years old and it gets through the graphics just fine.  I'd look into getting a new ISP or, if it's just that your computer is on it's last leg, upgrading.  Check out Yahoo groups for your local town and see if there is a "Freecycle" group - you can usually find people giving old older computer equipment that you could grab to make yourself a new, faster system (if not find someone giving away a decent perfectly-working computer outright).
Good luck!

My family constantly complains how slow the computer is downstairs. I mean pdf's take five minutes to load. But i've put graphics in posts and they always loaded quick. Upgrade to a faster connection. If you've noticed every website is becoming more and more flash oriented which my computer struggles with. This site is simple by comparison sake and is quick. What do you do for reading reviews?

Use mozilla firefox. Best browser ever!

No issues here, I see no need for a warning. Its not 1998 anymore, the majority of users have no issues handling threads with a large number of pictures.

Yeah Alienblue, gheesh its not 1998 anymore : ) Just go get a computer upgrade, or faster internet, simple, problem solved. Well, being that Alienblue is a respectable member of this forum and has been here long before I. I don't see it out of my way to type "Pics" in the Thread title.

Well i guess that's fair, I interpeted it as a request for it to be a rule the first time I read it but it actually sounds more like a favor.

Well d'uh.  Seriously, are there actually people still using Internet Explorer?  Even my mom uses firefox, and she didn't go online for the first time until last year.  I find it hard enough to believe there are still people who use MS Office. (Seriously, everyone get Open Office)

I prefer Internet Explorer, even though I have Firefox on here.

Although I have a new PC as well as an ibook, my 6 year old iMac does just fine online even with threads with lots of pictures.
