I'd say it goes SMB/Duck Hunt, then Sonic, then Super Mario World. Wii Sports is fun, but it is mainly a good game for introducing people to a system, or games in general. It isn't as addictive as those pack-ins.

I totally disagree
I think Wii Sports is very addictive. I don't think it's the best pack-in ever though.

I didn't say it wasn't addictive, just not as addictive. It was also not as addictive as Zelda, which completely overshadowed it for me, but I did have a lot of fun fun with tennis and bowling.

I agree with Atarifever, Pole Position 2 is a good game but it was a terrible choice for a pack-in, because although I love racing games, a game needs to be more "mainstream" to appreal to the mojority of gamers. A baseball or Football game would also be bad, which is why INTV packed in Poker/Blackjack. Wii Sports is okay because it has enough different sports to appeal to Some (I dislike baseball, but enjoy tennis and bowling). The 7800 would have sold better with Ms. Pac-Man or even Scrapyard Dog packed in. There just aren't enough PP2 fans out there! (I still think they packed it in because at the time it had the best GRAPHICS of any 7800 game).

Where's the guy who had a big discussion about Pole Position 2 not deserving an F. I thought for sure he would say the atari 7800 with pole position 2 as pack in was the best to stick it to the vgc.

I believe there are 3 of us who fit that description, or at least me and Alienblue do. I simply argue it is far from a D-; I don't think it's an A+.
I just thought it would be mentioned as a joke, that's all.

Funny, this PPII discussion was the first thing I thought of when I saw this topic.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but it has to be Super Mario Brothers. It bounced the home video game market back on its feet.

I'd kill for a Combat pack-in today. The closest thing to it today would be the Battlefield series. However, Super Mario Bros and Tetris each solidified the market for each system. Each did the job equally well. So, three-way time. Sweet, sweet three-way.

I forgot all about Tetris. It came with the Gameboy system I bought in 1990, and I played that thing to death. It was the perfect pack-in game for the Gameboy.

Though it's totally un-Sony like, I'm surprised that they didn't include a pack in game with the PS3. People love pack ins!! Nintendo did themselves a huge favor with shipping Wii's with Wii Sports. I'm not crazy about the game, but a pack in rekindles old feelings.
Besides, we all know that a big chunk of Wii purchases went to 12 year olds, bought by their moms, and a pack eliminates having a mom to shop for something they have no clue about.
