[QUOTE=Chris Marsh]It seems like there is going to be no chance of getting a Wii until probably a year from now. I remember that there were supposed to be many Wii systems for people, but now the media is saying it is going to be as bad as the PS3? Either the media is right or they are crazy. What am I supposed to believe?

Who in the media is saying that? In particular, who is saying that we won't be able to get one until a year from now?
[QUOTE=Chris Marsh]It was from Fox News where this came from. I made a slight exaggeration with that because it is until March, but that is still lame. I thought about getting one in January, but I am not skipping to camp out for 10 hours to get one. I might as well get a Turbografx off the internet for $60. Either that or I will just play PS2 more and enjoy it. Besides I want to get God of War after playing it with my cousin and thinking it was pretty cool.

I think you may have interpreted it incorrectly. I read a similar news story about three days ago, and it didn't say that consoles would be unavailable until March, 2007, but that consoles would still be hard to get. The gist of the story is that Nintendo will still be putting out steady releases of consoles (as many as they can, from what I understand), but that demand will still be high enough to have them sell almost immediately upon stocking in stores. So it will be similar to what we saw in December.
Personally I think that's great. It means the Wii is expected to sell very well for the next few months. Obviously, it might also be a call for Nintendo to try to increase production, but that might be easier said than done. This goes the same for Sony.
I realize this isn't the best news, but it's not worse than we experienced a year ago with the XBOX 360, where many consumers had to wait until March, 2006 just for another shipment.
Obviousily Nintendo and Sony are shipping as many as they can, don't be shocked if you see someone buy one like you just saw Andrew. No one ever said that they wouldn't be making more available for a year.
I got my Wii from sitting in a chair for six hours at Walmart on November 18th, but my friend has talked with all the major electronic stores around my area and they all get about five-ten Wii's and 2-3 ps3s every few days at about noon. My friend bought his by just going in one day and they had some in stock. I know several people who have done the same thing and were able to buy one. I don't know how hard it is to get a Wii in major cities, but that's a suggestion.
