What is your opinion on people who sell consoles which people are desperate for?(Wii,PS3) Do you think it is fair that they sell them online in order to make some quick cash?

Someone told me that eBay has prohibited the sale of PS3s for over a certain amount of money... but then again, that's through the grapevine, it may not be true. All I know is that for the sellers, it's a genius idea, but for the buyers, it's completely ridiculous.

From my point of view, if the transaction is between a willing buyer and a willing seller, and doesn't violate any natural rights of a third party, then there's nothing wrong with it.  I would consider any legal action to ban such a transaction to be in itself intrinsically wrong.

eBay and other outlets might not want such things being sold at too high a price, and it is absolutely alright for those companies to prevent such things on their site based on a user agreement.  But that derives from their own natural property rights not to be a venue for activities they object to, and the fact that they are not an uninvolved third-party, but an active participant in any listing.  Beyond that, I don't think there is anything intrinsically wrong with it, and thus nothing that an uninvolved third party (such as a Government) should have to say about it.

It's a free market, if someone gets their panties in a wad because someone is making some extra cash well boo-hoo.

Classic "not fair" attitude. Well, guess what--life isn't fair. Never has been, never will be.

Maybe we should just ban profits altogether--it's just not fair that certain companies make more than others, certain people have higher incomes, etc. Come to think of it, it's not fair that someone can buy a stock, and sell it to someone else at a higher price the next hour. Not fair. BAN IT!

It's simply capitalism.   There is nothing wrong with it.  It someone wants to wait in line for 40 hours to make a thosand dollar profit, then I am happy for them.   That's hard work staying outside in 30-40F. weather for 40 straight hours.  They earned that money.

I don't see anything wrong with it, other than it not helping me out.

As long as we're on the topic, I saw a 60 GB PS3 at Best Buy today. I considered buying it and reselling it on Ebay, but a Best Buy employee told me I'd be lucky to get $700.00 for it. Sure enough, I looked on Ebay when I got home, and I may not have even made back the money I spent. Still, it was weird to actually see one. I was starting to think they didn't actually exist.

I think it's immoral.  They're taking advantage of the system to make a quick buck, and yes, it is at the expense of others.  I put them in the same category with spammers.  What they're doing is not illegal, but they're a thorn in the side of society.

I know, I hate how people FORCE other people to buy things they put on ebay. The other day some thugs showed up at my door and forced me to pay $25 for a used PS2 game! It was terrible! Now I won't be able to eat for a week!

It is NOT immoral, it is capitalism.
