The Video Game Critic

My father an I each purchased an arcade machine last week--I bought Zaxxon and he bought NBA Jam (see pics). They are in excellent shape, and were fairly inexpensive (Zaxxon was $150, NBA Jam was $400). Anyone else have some arcade games? What about you Critic?

I'm trying to get a Mortal Kombat machine. But I downloaded MAME, so I don't need to buy a machine now.

I have a classic Asteroids vector game.  Unfortunately it's one of those ones with a VERY understated display, nothing but woodgrain everywhere.  Not even a neon banner.  I'm about halfway done building my custom arcade cabinet, so I'll post pictures of that soon.  I'm going to have to make some big changes on in because I think I made it so big that it probably won't fit through a normal doorway, even with the removable control panel.

Oooh... I would love a Zaxxon cab.

 

I bought a Street Fighter 2 arcade machine once and brought it home. I was so happy. My wife was not as impressed as I was and I had to leave it on the front porch. I lived downtown and neighborhood kids would always be in the street staring at our house. One night a kid rang the doorbell at 9PM, waking my pregnant wife and asked her if she had change for a dollar.

 

The machine was given away to the kid that mows our grass promptly thereafter.
