Where are the PS3 Reviews?

JLH on Live it takes two seconds to mute the 12 year olds in a room.  Without voice chat it is impossible to co-ordinate teams.

Good for you...I don't ever play on teams when I go online.

Where are the PS3 Reviews?

Anyone that spews hate towards the PS3 is basing their opinions simply off what the media tells them.  If you log in more than 20 hours with the system you will understand that there is no way its going to fail.  As of right now its on par with the 360 and once more games come out its going to sell just fine.

Shawn, nobody has said anything negative so far. The only two(valid) points that people have brought up on this topic is that a). there is a distinct possibility that MGS4 will NOT be an exclusive and b). the possibility they won't get the systems out soon enough. The potential loss of MGS4 as an exclusive wouldn't spell the end of ps3, as somebody else stated, not by a long shot. I do believe it would hurt, though, to anybody who originally wanted the ps3 mainly for that game and suddenly they can pick up a system for $200 cheaper. This isn't just Sony, though...it's industry wide! Exclusives are really becoming a rarity but it almost seems like things are reverting to the way things were in the 8-bit era when all it took was one stellar game for a system to sell! The 360 has quite a few rounded up(Gears of War, Dead Rising, Halo 3 coming up, etc.), PS3 with Resistance, the Wii with Zelda. I do believe that, unlike the last generation, each system offers a unique enough experience to sell well. I personally think the GC sold poorly and was supported poorly as well because, frankly, it didn't do enough to differ from the other two consoles, even taking away features the other two had in spades. The Wii, with the proper titles, can not only sell well based on the experience but could possibly lure people who didn't care for what the GC had to offer. I don't think there are really any weak systems among the 3, though there is a thing or two about each system that I can bicker about! Though I have said in the past that I hope the ps3 bombs, based on the price alone, I really don't want any of the systems to fail. I would love to see a 3 system race happen where even the loser is a winner. I figure that, once I get my 360, I'll have what I need this generation....if only Assassin's Creed was out, I'd get one tomorrow!!

I'm getting pretty sick of the price argument for the 360.

Here are my own personal costs for each system.

PS3 -
Console - $600

Xbox 360
Console - $400
Xbox Live - $50
Wireless Network adapter - $100

The PS3 has a much larger hard drive, built in wi-fi and the blu-ray player all for $50 more than the 360.  After seeing how nice movies look on blu ray, I would at least want the HD-DVD player for the 360 and that would add another couple hundred bucks.

Lets be honest here...both systems are expensive as hell.  For my personal set up it would be $50 more for the PS3. I would get the PS3 in a heartbeat.  The built in wi-fi alone makes it 10x more convenient for me.

Well I had a negative experience with the system. I attribute most of that to getting the 20GB system.

No Wifi left me pretty much stranded as far as the internet goes so I can't even comment on that other than it kinda made me upset. I'm not even sure if I can interface my PSP with it since there's no wifi. I'm guessing that I can't... I didn't try. Christmas was very busy for me. I received one game for the system Genji... which noting my tastes probably wasn't a bad choice.. however I would have rather had Resistance even though I'm really not a FPS kinda guy. Really Genji: Dawn of the Unintentionally Racist Cut Scenes, pissed me off in the first 5 minutes and then I only played for another 15. It really came off as a slightly better looking but less intense Dynasty Warriors.. And really without an HDTV or composite cables I couldn't really tell it was that much better than higher end PS2 or XBOX titles. It was better just not significantly so.

So my first experience with PS3 in general was a negative one.. the only thing that's nice is that I don't have to jam batteries in the controller. That was a decent move by Sony... I just wished they made that USB cable about 2 ft. longer. Oh also those heat sensor buttons are a little frustrating to me... perhaps its because I typically have cold hands but I would have to hold the buttons down to get them to work at all...

I think the moral of this story is never buy the core system for any console when they do this.... frankly I don't even know why they sell the core systems. I have hopes for the system but right now I'll keep my distance until better games come out. In fact I left it at my parents' house for now until I can justify taking it to my much smaller place.

I'm really not trying to bash the PS3 but the 20GB system is not worth your money... at all.

Well there is one thing I will bash Sony for is the choice of movie to include with the system... Ricky Bobby? Come on... does this movie really need to be on BluRay? I don't understand why they didn't select a more visually impressive movie to pack with the system or a movie that relies more on its visuals. Frankly, Will Ferral is going to be just as funny on DVD as he is on BluRay.

You guys just proved my point. As soon as somebody on this site says anything good about the PS3 you guys are just frothing at the mouth, ready to beat it up.

Oh, you mean EXACTLY what you do when someone mentions Nintendo?  How dare us.  I'm shocked you had the marbles to make such a hypocritical comment.  Besides, those last few posts were pretty bland.  Calm down.  They weren't full of exclaimation points and bleeped-out swear words like your Nintendo ones are.

And here would be mine if I bought right now:
Premium Xbox 360 on sale at Wal-Mart with the best of Live game and GRAW $400
PS3 Premium: $659.  See how different those amounts are.  I don't want a Blu-Ray player and don't need Wi-fi.  Lots of people fit that bill, so on average the 360 is still much cheaper than the PS3.  It's way more simple than people are making it.  The 360 can be a lot cheaper, end of story.  If you have to throw in HD player add-ons, you're not talking about the game console anymore, and I think there are other boards to talk about High Def. movies.

I'm sorry but there is no way in hell I could get that kind of deal on a 360 around where I live.  I've looked and my costs will end up being $550.  I'm not gonna to complain about $50 when you get a ton a value for the $600 PS3.   Running a cable through my house is not an option and its not for TONS of people.  I believe the Critic is one of them.  Paying $100 for a network adapter is highway robbery and I could never bring myself to pay that much.  Having built in wi-fi and the bigger hard drive more than makes up for the $50 I would save on the 360.

Last time I checked Blu Ray and HD DVD has quite a bit to do with the next generation of videogames.

Honestly, I don't think there is much of a price difference between the 360 and the PS3. Now unless you go crazy with an expensive SD card there is a huge difference between the Wii and the 360/PS3. Hopefully you have wireless internet otherwise you won't be doing anything online with the Wii. There is an influx of PS3's in my area (southen Boston) and I really wanted to pick one up but I think I'll wait. So if you live in the area call around to Gamestop/EB Games in the Braintree area and you may snag one.
