What the hell is it up with people creating games to movies or Movies to games and end up being crap. I can not see why developers create crap games that are related to movies in order for us to buy and want our money back. The Halo Movies coming up and Peter Jackson is doing it. Will it be good? The game was so lets hope for the best right? I can't think of a Decent Film Since Mortal Kombat 1(not 2 it sucked) that was good. Lets hope he doesn't screw up

*shrugs* That's licensing for you. Many fans of the license will buy/see it no matter what, so it's easy to just make a crappy product and earn some big bucks. Movie-based game are rarely very good, but they usually sell better than most better games when they're released.

Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) the Halo movies are on hold now.
"On October 19, 2006, both Universal and Fox studios, who had agreed to co-finance the screen adaptation of the popular Microsoft game abruptly backed out of the picture, leaving rumors floating that the budget may be rising above the projected $135 million. Microsoft attempted to secure financing from other studios, including Warner Bros and Paramount, to keep the project moving, but production was officially halted and postponed on October 31 until additional backing could be found."

A lot of people will disagree with me but I thought the STREET FIGHTER movie was very good-not GREAT, but good for a "video game turned movie".... with the exception of Blanka (poor guy) most every major character had a good part...chun li and cammy were cute, and the fight at the end with M. Bison was very game like. True, they had to come up with a different plot, but it was still a good one.

Resident Evil 1 movie I thought was excellent. Haven't seen Silent Hill or Doom yet but my friends seem to rate them.
Then you have a few awesome games like The Thing (I can't wait to see the new Carpenter project - Psychopath which is being jointly done as a film and game) and Dead Rising.

Yeah, Street Fighter was alright.
I'm also in the minority in this, but Mario Bros. was OK too. I mean, how the hell do you turn such an abstract, pastel world into a flesh-and-blood movie? My main complaint was that Luigi didn't have a mustasce..
It had Kuribo's shoes, flamethrowers that threw fireballs (these would be cooler if they were powered by flowers that they stuffed into some chamber), and they even wore their trademark suits at the end. The goombas were actually OK; I seriously don't think that giant walking mushrooms would have worked in this film.

Good Game to Movies:
Street Fighter (call me cheesy, but this is an all time personal fave of mine)
Tomb Raider 1 & 2 (the action is hokey, but really cool)
Doom (really captures the atmosphere, as does...)
Silent Hill
Good Movies to Games:
Actually, there are quite a few.

They should make a movie of Tetris. It could be a real blockbuster.

I still think it was ridiculous that Gamespot gave Riddick a 9.3 -- what a joke. I personally thought the game sucked. It got a higher score than Doom 3 and HL2.
