The Video Game Critic

Handheld sports games are usually poor, especially when it comes to speed (I hate slow sports games).  Do yall know of any good team sports games for the DS?

I usually stick with platformers and I have Mario Kart, but I'm craving some basketball or football or baseball or hockey or tennis action.

Well, I would advise getting Madden 07 for the GBA and playing it on your DS. It's a well designed, pretty 16 bit era football game with all of the deep franchise mode stuff that the console games have.

The actual DS Madden 07 is, unfortunately, riddled with bugs, including a virtually non-functioning kicking game. Go with GBA Madden. It's cheap and fun.

Well, I heard OK things about Mario Hoops 3-on-3 on DS.  I also heard that Baseball Advance from Sega for the GBA was quite good (Tommy Tallarico calls it the best handheld baseball game of all time, and as a hardcore baseball fan, I think he'd know).
