I guess in some sense all things stolen are free, at least to the one who does the stealing.  Thank goodness the vast majority of the civilized world doesn't see things this way.
They do when it comes to emulation. I'm not talking about carjacking, robbing stores, etc.
You don't have to be talking about carjacking, robbing stores, etc.  All you have to be talking about is theft of intellectual property, which is just as valid as any other form of property by any objective standard.

I agree it's stealing. It is definitely not to the degree as the other examples. I'm going to do it anyway and so are the majority of people.

Well at least you admit it.

P.S. Don't take this as praise or anything.  It's not.

It's always nice to see someone losing an argument resort to an ad hominem attack.  It's a good sign not only that he's losing, but that he knows he is.

I tell ya what -- since you're the one advocating immoral (and for that matter, illegal) activity, get over yourself and give us an example of how it's done.

I didn't need to say anything about it.  Preserving history is not an excuse for violating property rights, or any human rights frankly.  I thought that should be understood by default.

IP holders will gladly preserve the history for a price when they find that it's economically feasible to do so.  It's up to them to decide that, because it's their property.

I had to skip a lot of your comments, and I guess I should apologize for that.  I wasn't even sure if they were serious a lot of the time.  For instance, the comment about corporations not representing people -- that one is hard to follow up.  Who do you think owns the corporation (and thus the corporate property)?  Robots?  There are plenty of stockholders here who wouldn't know how to take that statement either.

Thanks for the mirror comment by the way.  Moving the debate away from the issues at hand and towards my character is almost as dishonest as the theft we're debating.
