My impressions of Resistance: FoM so far...
To my surprise, I was not all that impressed with the graphics--GoW is definitely tighter in that regard. Things look good, but not that good. It looks next gen, but not twice-the-cost-of-the-360 next gen. But, in fairness, it looks better than any 360 launch games IMO. Last night I read in PSM that the graphics in Resistance blew away everything that's out for the 360 after one year. I was like, "Are you kidding me? Ever heard of GoW?" Not true, but what do you expect from a Sony mag.
Anyway, the game is fun, but to be honest, I found myself playing GoW multiplayer last night rather than Resistance. I suppose you could say that's not a good sign. The internal wireless connection worked flawlessly, as did the entire setup (I expected something to glitch with all the different connections, etc). The controller feels like a cheap piece of garbage--no weight to it at all. And you have to re-synch the controller every time you turn on your PS3. Weak.
There are no other games out right now that I plan on purchasing. Good purchase? Yes, but only because I had Best Buy gift cards coming out my ears. Otherwise, heck no.
