To what games Have You Been Addicted From Early Childhood On?
I'll list some of my games here I literally spent hours on:
SimCity
SimCity 2000
Populous II
Theme Park
Championship Manager 4
WarCraft I & II
Command & Conquer
...
and non-sims:
Streets of Rage 2
Indiana Jones & Fate of Atlantis
Rise of the Dragon
Tetris
Micro Machines 2
Sega Worldwide Soccer
...
When I got older I still liked games but they couldn't hold my attention as long anymore...

Nice list...
Sim City for sure...
Right now I am hooked on Oblivion....it is like crack. I find myself thinking about it at work. It is not a perfect game but man, is it fun. I think it could be my favorite 360 game so far, edging out Gears.
Questron for the C-64...played 18 hours straight when I was a kid...

Worm Whomper - INTV (Hypnotic!)
Gunship - C64 (Amazing depth!)
Leader Board - C64 (Great graphics!)
Toy Bizarre - C64 (Wild!)
Super Mario Bros. - NES (Timeless!)
Super Mario Bros. 2 - NES (Ditto!)
Tecmo Super Bowl - NES (Best football game EVER!)
Tetris - Gameboy (Classic!)
Super Star Wars - SNES (Love the music!)
Super Empire Strikes Back - SNES (Love that AT-AT level!)

I don't really get addicted to single-player games--I play through them once every year or two if I really like it. But the multiplayer is where the addition sets in. For me:
Unreal Championship - xbox - my first online console game, and I played it three hours a day for months--sometimes longer.
Return to Castle Wolfenstein - xbox - my second online console game. Such a rich array of play types, maps, and weapons. Loved it, played it too much.
Counter Strike - xbox - my third online console game. This is a multiplayer exclusive--no single player campaign. Just a lot of fun and I got pretty good.
GoW - 360 - the most fun I've ever had in multiplayer. Bar none. Nuff said. Unless we're out of town, I play it on Thurs, Fri, and Sat nights from around midnight to 4am while eating chocolate covered coffee beans and drinking tea.
