Have you guys seen the commercial for this game? It blew me away. It looks like large-scale battle game in the snow with hulking alien monsters. As someone who loves winter games, I am really looking forward to this one. I think it comes out on Jan 16.

This game seems cool. I heard about it a lot, and also downloaded the demo on my 360 a while back. This game looks sick as well.

The download is great. This might be one of the biggest games this year. Lets not overhype it though.

I've been playing the single player demo quite a bit since summer. The Akrid level is amazing, especially the cave section which is very visually impressive. I love the diversity in the Akrid and the different ways that they attack. I did find the snow pirates level a bit more repetitive though. However I think these levels will be more interesting when in the context of the storyline. The grappling hook works really well in my opinion. Some people on the ntsc forums imported the Jap copy and are raving about it, saying the later missions really pick up the pace.
I haven't tried the multiplayer yet but I think the modes they have supplied could have beena bit more varied and interesting. That and the simplistic nature of the combat, I don't see it pulling me away from Gears or GRAW.

It looks pretty sweet and IGN gave it a solid 8.5. Plus you don't have to wait until the 16th to buy it because it comes out on the 12th.
Lost Planet looks like a real solid new IP. The artic theme is a nice little twist and overall it looks really impressive. I am much happier seeing games like this come out rather than having to choke down the next forced sequel that we don't need.

It looks like a cool game, and I enjoyed the demo (but didn't like the cave areas at all). In a magazine review I read, they said there is nothing unique about the game. They also used the word "solid" to describe it--which is a polite way of saying it's "ok." We'll see I guess. Two more days.

GameSpot gave it a 8.1. That's not bad, but that's sorta low to OXM Magazine's 8.0. Oh well, I'm getting this game either way.

Bought Lost Planet tonight, played for about three hours. Fun game, but certainly nothing special. Haven't tried the multiplayer yet. Some of the environments are cool, and the explosions and smoke look excellent.

I picked up Lost Planet recently, and my friends were really pissed it didn't have a splitscreen mode - the only multiplayer is on-line. That stinks.
And before anybody rags on split-screen, let me assure you that playing it on a 50" plasma is quite a blast.
