Sony won't replace the ps3 controller. They are far to arrogant to pay the roylaties on the technology.
A company that's not immersion has come forward and said they can put rumble in the PS3 controller without breaking Immersion's patents. So if Sony wants to they can put in rumble now. Here's hoping.
Also, bluemonkey, you just said that Sony isn't allowing people to make porn on BluRay, but I just read an article in EGM that says someone is already making BluRay porn. It mentions how porn is what pushed VHS over Betamax, and now it seems like it could help push BluRay over HD-DVD. Of course, it seems to me that HD porn is the last thing anyone wants. Have you ever seen the news in HD? You can see every pore on the anchors' faces. Try not to throw up thinking about it.
a there is only one company making a single Blu-ray porn film. And if Sony ever finds out who is pressing those discs they intend to shut them down by revoking their ability to press Blu-ray discs. All the other major players aren't, and are producing for HD-DVD out of default. Secondly there is a hell of a lot of actresses where high def really won't be a problem. While the internet is a good medium it simply isn't possible to get hold of legitimately most of the best films out there without going to DVD.
Are you still talking about porn on the end of your post bluemonkey? Because if you are, please stop. I don't need to hear what the best porn flicks are. Anyway, Atarifever is right; porn won't push BluRay the way it did with VHS.

bluemonkey is right about that one. Sony is basically forbidding porn to be made on bluray. It's been speculated in the industry press that this will help kill Bluray, and despite the fact that much of the "industry" as moved to the internet, I think that's pretty much correct. HD-DVD is a much more open, much less centrally controlled format, and as such, it is open to porn production. In fact, as bluemonkey pointed out, most HD porn is indeed slated to be released on HD-DVD.
As for the sense of realism in porn, remember that when the industry moved to DVD, porn moved right along with it. Porn purveyors did so primarily because they LIKED that extra sense of realism. They liked the ability to see things more clearly. Though the internet holds a market for convenience when it comes to porn, there is still a market that likes to collect porn and likes to see it in as realistic a sense as possible. That's the market that will help push HD-DVD as a standard.

When discussing the success of a medium like DVD, VHS, HD-DVD, or Bluray, porn cannot be left out of the equation. And the quality and variety of porn is definitely going to be a deciding factor. It's not a pleasant reality for me, and I am sure you feel the same way, but it's the discussion you chose to take part in a. There's nothing that can be left out of that discussion as long as it is relevant and discussed more clinically and tastefully. Keeping those qualifiers in mind, I didn't see anything specifically objectionable in bluemonkey's post. He wasn't explicit, he was just explaining the situation as it stands -- which is entirely pertinent to the question at hand.

Kidding, m0zart, I was kidding.
