Numerous game sequels and games with the same characters

What really ticks me off is numerous sequels and games with the same characters. Here is an example: Nintendo mascot Mario has too many games with him and his buddies, mainly the sports. Since Nintendo had no good sports games from EA, they decide to use Mario and everyone else since the Nintendo 64 in 1998. I mean what's there, Mario Baseball, Golf, Tennis and now Baseketball. What will be the next one, Mario Football, Volleyball, Badmintion, Hockey? Another one is the Final Fantasy series which is considered a good RPG series. I never played them but I will try to explain. The series came on the NES in 1987. Number 2 came out in 1988 in Japan only for the Famicom. Final Fantasy III 3 came in 1990 in Japan only. That was the NES Famicom set of FF games. Now onto the Super NES. Final Fantasy IV 4 came in 1991 in Japan but in America it was FFII. FF 5 came out in Japan around between 1992 or 93. When Final Fantasy VI 6 came in 1994 it was FF 3 in America. Then in 1996, Square ditches Nintendo 64 for the Sony Playstation because of carts vs. CDs. So Final Fantasy VII 7 comes out and it is FF 7 everywhere so if anyone wants to know, you FF 4, not FF 2 and FF 3 was FF6. So it is FF7 to what might be FF13 for Sony PS 1 through 3 only. Why Final Fantasy be on Nintendo and Microsoft? Oh, yeah, they are only exclusive to Sony. Now Capcom's mascot: Mega Man. There was six games on the NES from 1987 to 1993. Then there is Mega Man X which is a different series. It is sort of like Mario. Sonic is not a problem though. Mortal Kombat could be a victim of sequels that don't live as well as the first two games. Namco has too many Ridge Racer games. They are up to number seven. Sega don't really have too many sequels. They have Virtua Fighter five coming to PS3. Sony makes the Gran Turismo series where they are up to four or five. How about Need for Speed or Burnout. Burnout may be up to five. Need for Speed have too many games.

I am glad Nintendo makes those pseudo-sports games. I actually don't care much for most realistic sports titles, so those pseudo-sports titles with Mario and other Nintendo mascots tend to be things I enjoy as an alternative to such.

You lost me here. How is Sonic not a problem? Sonic has had the WORST barage of sequels since Sega went to software-only. Besides the Sonic Advance titles, and Sonic Rush on the DS, they have been pretty much crap. In fact, the latest 360 offering has to be one of the worst excuses I've seen for any kind of game, sequel or not.
At least the Mario games have been of some playable quality.

No, he was angry about how the titles of the games made zero sense when it came to their date of release, and how one would have to look at the release date to know which sequence they came out in.

There really is 24 Castlevanias? On this site, there is like about over 10 Castlevanias but 24 games of that series? It has been here since when- 1987-88! Sonic does not have what Mario has for games. I think that hedgehog is going to plummet down. I don't understand why someone would want to play a Mario sports game. I know some people love it but what about the real sports games.Nintendo is going to realize that third-party is going to support them, not the fat plumber who could be in other sports for the Wii. Mega Man must have over 25 games for NES, SNES, PS1 and 2, N64, Dreamcast and Saturn and on the Nintendo handhelds but they are different series: The main one, X, and that short-lived TV show set of games. I did see Angry Video Game Nerd reviews. He is good at reviews. I trying to not copy him, but he seemed to forget Mario but he's the mascot so he did not care about his numerous sports and side games.

No, only 23.
Castlevania, Castlevania 2, Castlevania 3, Super Castlevania 4, Vampire Killer, Haunted Castle, Castlevania Adventure, Belmont's Revenge, Castlevania Legends, Castlevania Chronicles, Castlevania Bloodlines, Castlevania 64, Rondo of Blood, Vampire's Kiss, Symphony of the Night, Legacy of Darkness, Circle of the Moon, Harmony of Dissonance, Aria of Sorrow, Lament of Innocence, Dawn of Sorrow, Curse of Darkness and Portrait of Ruin.

Because they're fun? Go play them, as you clearly haven't.

25? He has at least twice that. Hell, the original series starring the Blue Bomber has more than 25 games, then you add in all the rest (X (12 games), Zero (4 games), ZX (1 game), Legends (3 games), Battle Network (11-15, depending on whether you count different versions of the same game as different games (Battle Network 3 White and Blue are fairly identical, while Battle Network 4 Red Sun and Blue Moon have completely different scenarios and bosses) and the upcoming Mega Man Star Force), and you get an extreme amount of games.
There was no set of games based on a TV show, though, what are you talking about?

I like sequels, continuing plotlines feel epic and I want more of what I loved in the earlier titles. I like original games too. Both are great.

Hmm.. sequels eh? I personally don't mind them because as we see with the Mario and Zelda situations they can continue to be good for a long period of time... strikingly different from what happens with motion pictures. Usually sequels suck hard or after time get worse and worse. However this doesn't happen with video games as much.
I think you're original beef is more associated with spin off games like Mario Picross, Sonic the Fighters or Megaman Soccer. Some of those games are real stinkers mostly because all they have is a franchise/licensed character thrown ontop of them... others are pretty good and obviously made with some care, Smash Bros. and Metroid Pinball come to mind. Its all a mixed bag but what it really comes down to is Nintendo/Sega/Capcom/whoever wanting to cash in on their mascots again and again.
