Hi, I just thought it would be interesting to describe the origins of ya'lls names.  I've always wondered about that... (Especially "The Video Game Critic"...where does that come from? )

BTW, mine is a syllable from my name.

Mozart is a huge obsession of mine.  I learned to play piano because of a childhood obsession with him that has lasted until adulthood.  "Mozart" was my nickname in college, and has been my most consistent internet username.

I got mine because I went to this website where it said I had to use a fake name. Minzo popped into my mine and stuck.

Conn

Forum Name Explanations

Postby Conn » January 15th, 2007, 12:17 am

'Conn' is a nickname comes from my name, Connor. I actually haven't been called 'Conn' in real life for two years now, but for some reason I keep using it on the internet.

Another name I use, 'Kawnhr', came from two nicknames I got on the internet- 'khan' and 'kawn'. 'Khan' came from William Shatner's "KHAAAAAAAAAN" yell, and 'kawn' was a bastardisation of Conn. I ended up fusing them together for some reason, and it stuck.

I also go by 'KHAAAN' in a few places.

Lastly, everytime I have to imput my fullname, I always write 'Connor X. Zumas'. 'X. Zumas' is a backronm of my email, and 'Zumas' itself was a reference to the author of the Three Muskateers.

Feilong is a Street Fighter II character (one of the four additional characters that came a little later in the series). I like Bruce Lee, and Fei Long is a pretty obvious homage. He is my character of choice when playing SF:II Anniversary Edition, despite his difficult (but effective) moveset.

80 is the year I was born, 1980.

Alienblue

I wrote a thread describing this once.... but to repeat, ALIEN is how I sign my artwork. My real last name is ALLEN, But all my life I've been a loner and ALIENated. But online there are a zillion "aliens" because of sci-fi in general and the Motion pix of the same name, so I added my favorite color to the name- voila, alienblue! My home address name is Blufox, BTW, because " blue fox and Blue_fox" were taken....again, I like blue and my first girlfreind used to call me FOX from the x-files.

But it's obvious my life will always be blue!

I linked to Atariage from somewhere one day and that started my whole retro gaming obsesion three years ago or so now.  I thought Atarifever described that pretty well, so I used that name on Atariage.  I use it on all gaming boards now just to be consistent for people who use multiple boards.
When I play games online I usuaully go by "Zieborn", which is the name of a character who is introduced, fights, and dies all in three pages of a sci-fi novel I like.  I thought the name was way too cool to go to waste on a character like that.

"a" wasn't taken, and I'm lazy. Fascinating huh?

That's a very good question about how I became "The Video Game Critic".  I should really ask my friends because it's a bit hazy to me.  If I recall right, I think the main reason was the fact that there wasn't anybody else on the Internet calling themselves that, and the domain name was available at the time.

To be honest, I never really cared for the name, but it's worked out okay and it's way too late to change it now.

A couple years back I was a major sega collector.  And the saturn was my favorite console they had made.  Also when creating my name I had gotten an X box the same week.  I don't really use the name that often any more, generally going with "The Doctor" or "Doctor Who", haven't ditched on here yet though.
