I haven't downloaded Zelda on the VC yet, but from my experience it has been flawless.
So far I have downloaded these titles
Super Mario Bros.
Bomberman 93
Toejam and Earl
Each game is an almost perfect emulation in my experience. T&E in particular is nearly flawless...I can't find anything wrong with it.
In SMB, when you are small and you jump the sound fx seems to be a little louder in pitch. Some people might not notice it, but it is different.
So far I am very pleased with the VC games. Now Nintendo needs to just keep pumping out the classics to keep the masses happy.
Okay I'm up on campus in a busy computer lab so I don't know if there were any sound odditys since I had it muted, but the colors are correct, there's something up with his television or capture equipment that made them look so far off. He likely just needs to set up his television correctly.
I downloaded the following games so far:
Donkey Kong
Donkey Kong Jr.
Super Mario Bros.
Solomon's Key
The Legend of Zelda
F-Zero
Castlevania IV
Super Mario 64
Sonic the Hedgehog
Ristar
Toejam and Earl
Golden Axe
Gunstar Heroes
Bonk's Adventure
Super Star Soldier
Alien Crush
Military Madness
Dungeon Explorer
Out of all of those, I've only seen one emulation issue, and that was on Military Madness. After level 4, scrolling up and down causes some screen and music stuttering issues.
That's a nice library you've got there m0zart. Wanna trade Wiis?
Once the ethernet adapter comes out I plan on buying a bunch of TG-16 games. I'd like to get bomberman so I can play 4 player (I only have 1 Wii controller and 3 Gamecube), and I really want Bonk's Adventure. I like how Bomberman lets you use Gamecube controllers to do 5 player multiplayer. That's a good feature that should be used in later Virtual Console games.
Heh, I notice their big issues were screens being a little dark, and the whole "save state" thing.
I sometimes wonder if people just feel like complaining sometimes.
So they don't have save states? That's pretty bad.
I suppose they don't have netplay either?
Yes it has save states. Exiting frmo the VC at any time causes your console to save the state so that when you go back to that game in the VC, it takes up exactly where you left off. What it doesn't do is allow you to cheat with save states -- that is, it doesn't allow you to save multiple ones and load them more than once. I don't think that's much of a restriction, given that most of my games on XBOX Live Arcade don't even save the state when I exit, let alone allow me to have save states at all. That's pretty bad if you ask me.
It doesn't have netplay, because these games are unaltered from their original release. Though that would be a downside to you, it is precisely what makes them so popular to gamers like me. Again, not everyone is interested in online play.
