If you actually pay 50 dollars for the godfather or mortal kombat you deserve what you get. The both suck this has been well known since both came out. Being on the wii isn't going to make them any less awful. At least get over excited about games that may actually be decen't, not ports that are just padding out publishers release lists.

Wah Wah Wah...Could you complain any more? Last time I checked I'm a grown man and I can make my own choices about what games to try and what not to. Do I care if the Godfather and MK Armageddon are A+ titles...Hell no. Will I still give them a shot if the mood strikes me? Hell yes. Why should I listen to someone who doesn't even own a Wii? I would much rather listen to "a" who at least has rationale thoughts on the subject at hand.
Gamerankings lists the Godfather with a 78% and MK Armageddon received the same grade. Last time I checked a C+ game isn't what I would call critically panned...or sucks. I believe the college term is, "slightly above average". As a game collector I really don't care if I add two more slightly above average games into my collection. Unlike you I'm unafraid to take chances and no I don't always believe what I read from the media. Sometimes you take risks that go against the grain and they work out. Not every game has to be a A in my book to buy.

Both of those grades are very generous especially on mortal kombat. The games suck, if you want to buy them I don't care, I never did. I'm just saying lets not pretend some half assed ports equals a great line up. That's been my point all along not what you buy.

Lets not pretend that I ever said the Q1 lineup was fantastic. The intial poster asked, "what games are you anticipating next"...I gave the games that I personally was looking forward to. Do I care if a single person other than me is interested in those games? No, not really.
I love it how you attack everyone's personal opinions and state all your opinions as cold hard facts.
Also how is it a generous score from gamerankings when they tabulate reviews from all over the place. A bunch of sites/ magazines must have said decent things about those two games for them to have a final cumulative grade of 78%. Regardless a couple of ports never killed anybody. I would rather see those than nothing at all. Its not like the 360 didn't have a ton of ports after it was out for only 3 months...Oh yea and I forgot you hated the 360 at that point. You spewed more hate towards the 360 than you do towards the Wii.

Presently I do not own a Wii. I've had an NES, Nintendo 64, and Gamecube in generations of recent, but no Wii yet. I dunno. I could buy one if I wanted, but my income isn't the most steady yet. I think I'll probably end up getting one in late 2007, preferably around Christmastime.
Games I will definitely buy without question on the advent of my Wii acquisition:
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Wario Ware Smooth Moves
Stuff that'd be cool to get to but won't be on the aforesaid 1# list:
Metal Slug Anthology
Zelda: Twilight Princess
Metroid Prime 3
Super Mario Galaxy
Also if they ever add Chrono Trigger and Super Metroid to the virtual console I'll buy one of those Wii Points cards and download them.

I know how game rankings works and I know how most review sites work as well. But I also know both of them are bad games, especially mortal kombat. And since I have yet to hear anything positive by anyoen who played it about the godfather (all bad) I'm going to run with the idea it's junk too. Stop defending crappy ports, it's fruitless. Next you're going to tell me medal of honor vaguard looks great. Oh wait that's a FPS my bad. But then again the wii mote works oh so well with FPS as call of duty 3 has clearly shown us.

I'm not defending crappy ports, I'm defending my opinion you retard. Just because you have heard bad things doesn't mean other people don't like the game. Most people hated Enter the Matrix and yet the Critic seemed to like it(he gave it a B). Everyone has different tastes, which is something that you can't seem to wrap your simple mind around.
Also I believe Linkdude and Atarifever both have stated on this very site that they really enjoyed the Godfather game. I don't see whats wrong with trying out a game that you passed up the first time it came out. Every new system gets flooded with ports in the beginning...some of them suck and others turn out ok. Instead of being all negative and throwing a hissy fit about it, I remain optimistic.

Good point, you may love the games. Everybody (critics, that is) hated Full Auto for the 360 but I loved it.

Anticipated games? What games? The Wii's line-up is extremely weak for 2007. Check out these chart busters for the first quarter of 2007:

Really? If you don't like mini-games, Zelda, Mario or Metroid, why would you buy one?

What's this? Shawn butting into a completely peaceful Wii conversation and ruining it for the rest of us??? That's so unlike him.
Can we talk about the Wii just once Shawn without you forcing us to debate with you? Why don't you do something productive and go respond on that thread where The Critic totally owned you after you said he was obviously a Sony hater for disliking a few things about the PS3, because after that thread any credibility you had diminished greatly.

If graphics are still a question for the Wii, I read an article on IGN or something about all these magazine editors that got to try out the new Metroid, and they said it looked amazing by any standard, that it was now obvious that the Wii is many times more powerful than the GC, and that the control with the Wiimote was perfect.
<gasp> Oh no!!! Shawn, that means you won't be able to base your "The Wii won't work for FPS's" solely on a mediocre release title anymore!! (Red Steel) What are you going to do???

I don't care about graphics Shawn. If the Wii had N64 graphics I wouldn't give less of a crap if it was fun. Since when does horsepower affect anything besides graphics and the scope of games anyway? The last time I checked their were plenty of 40+ hour games on the PS2, and plenty of beautiful games on the Gamecube. The last time I checked the Wii was more powerful than both of those. The Wii's lack of horsepower won't affect anything but the graphics on games. Stop trying to argue otherwise.
Also, stop trying to compare Wii to Gamecube, or I'm going to start comparing the Xbox to the Xbox 360. Come one guys they're both called Xbox, and they both have Halo! It's annoying, see?

Oh really? You reckon the Wii could make a game like Dead Rising then?
