Heh, well, obviously if you think nothing good is coming out in two years, than you should pass.

This is all incredibly subjective. Here is a taste of what's to come on the Wii, and I am going to leave out, on purpose, anything that seems weird or gimmicky or "party game like, AND leave out anything developed by Nintendo:

Dragon Quest Swords: Square

Medal of Honor: Vanguard (March 26th)

Medal of Honor: Airborne (2007

Escape from Bug Island (A survival horror game): Eidos

The Bigs: 2k Sports

Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII: Ubisoft

Blitz: The League: Midway

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Crystal Bearers: Square

The Godfather: EA

Harvest Moon Wii: Natsume

Heatseeker: Codemasters

Legend of the Dragon: American Game Factory

Line Rider: inXile

Mercury Meltdown Revolution: Ignition

Mortal Kombat: Armageddon: Midway

Prince of Persia: Rival Swords: Ubisoft

Sonic and the Secret Rings

SSX Blur: EA

Tiger Woods: EA

TMNT: Ubisoft

Transformers, the game (I have excluded what appears to be licensed crap from this list, but this game could be good if done right): Activision

And that's just what we know. There will be other games that will be released in the next two years that are, of course, not on this list at all.

My point in going to all of this trouble is that the notion that the Wii will be just about Nintendo first party titles is silly. Just as there are plenty of interesting non-Nintendo games for the DS, the same will be true here as well.

I'm not trying to convince you to buy a Wii... I'm just trying to be sure that other readers know that the reasoning that you are using is, in my opinion, open to some debate.

Thanks for the list. I see a lot of ports and besides a few titles, I lot of crap (bug island game is terrible). Also, Medal of Honor: Airborne is NOT coming out for the Wii b/c the system can't handle it. All that matters is if you like the system. I wouldn't get too carried away with the success the DS has had b/c remember, Nintendo had a monopoly on the handheld market when it launched the DS, it is in LAST place right now. This is a tiring debate but if you look at the new EGM it is interesting to note that every multiplatform worth talking about is coming out for the 360 and the PS3. In fact, the only non Nintendo game for the Wii they mentioned in their 2007 preview was the Sonic title. I think this is something Nintendo didn't anticipate and although the Wii is off to a good start everybody would agree that it is about the games and they just aren't there. I'm done with this debate, enjoy your system.

There is no less than 8 ports on that list, to games some of which came out over a year ago.  I hardly think that's "great" support by any stretch of the imagination.

Sorry for spelling naive wrong in the 30 seconds I had to post that before work.  Though technically you spelt it wrong too as it is naïve.  It's funny that you pick me up on that when you aren't a techy and have no idea what you are saying in those posts though.

I just found it funny is all bluemonkey, and I learned from correcting someone else that it's better to omit accents (or whatever the two dots are called). I'm not a techy, but common sense can be enough to say these things. I said the 360 is capable of more enemies, but I explained that the amount of enemies old consoles were able to have on screen was enough that any more would clutter the screen.

The only notable thing the 360 and PS3 have over the Wii is graphics. Whether there are other things or not doesn't matter, because that's all anyone aside from "techies" will notice. I know exactly what I am saying in those posts bluemonkey; don't treat me like an idiot. You ignarant fool.

No, it's not. It's still in the lead.

Thank you, I know. Even though there are 95% crap games for the system Nintendo has done an amazing job marketing to the younger crowd. With games like Tom & Jerry, Hannah Montaya & Starfox Command it is no wonder it sells like crazy. Oh! Dont' forget cooking mama!

ANyway, you are missing my point completely what I meant is that Nintendo is in first place on the handheld sign of things but last time I checked it is in last place in the console wars. If you add N64, GC and Wii I think you still can't touch the PS2.

Give it a rest already on the Wii hardware limitations.  How many games are really going to push the 360 and PS3 to full power anyway? A handful. And they will take a long time to develop and will need to sell like gangbusters to make any money.

If you really are concerned about this you are a small minority. So don't buy the Wii. This thread is for  Wii impressions or  anticipated games. Start your own Wii doomsday thread. The fact is Nintendo is making somuch money right now it is sick. They ain't going anywhere and the Wii will get its fair share of games and market. I remember two years ago when the PSP was going to slit the DS throat and dump it in the river, too.

Yeah, you know I've always found that interesting. Nintendo makes more money that another other game division but everybody treats it like its poo. I hope the Wii gets some really killer games cause I'm pulling for the system... but right now I'm not wowed by the third party support frankly. It may just become a Gamecube with a funny controller but who knows.

I don't think anyone cares about full power, just things looking better than the stuff that came out 6 years ago.  And a good deal of wii titles look a lot worse than first gen x box stuff.  Case and point excite trucks vs project gothom.

SSX - Maybe I should have asked who's going to push the Wii to full power, instead, lol? Looks like MP3 will be the first real graphicaly GC update game, we'll see what you think of that. I still don't think graphics are that big of an issue for the Wii, but you're right, no need for devs to get lazy and just push stuff out  the door, either. The Wii hasn't been 'proved', (how could it so soon),  but at least people seem to be excited about the concept.

I agree with the ladder but not the former.  I compared the shots and videos to MP 1 and 3 and was really not blown away by the jump.  Now I don't know if that's just because MP1 was such a fine looking game, or the the hardware is just so similar.  And in case anyone thinks I'm off my rocker see for yourself.
