So what is Super Paper Mario on?

Okay, now I'm confused. It's the end of January 2007 and the Nintendo website still lists this as a Gamecube game. Nintendo in Japan lists it as a Wi game. The Wikipedia article says "It is to be released on
GameCube, but is also in development for the
Wii."
Now, given that Nintendo did the dual release of Zelda, and given how it handled that differently in Japan and North America/Europe, I'm wondering if anyone thinks there's any chance that his will be another game originally slated for a Cube release that gets a dual release. I can't think of many advantages to them from doing that, other than shutting up the 10 people who, like me, have even heard of this game as a Cube game. Admittedly, that isn't really much of a reason to dual release. The only other reason I can think of would be if they believe they're not going to have enough Wiis alone available for the game and hope to turn more profit this way.

If you recall that cube games such as animal crossing that were originally slated for the n64 was released for the n64 in europe only. Perhaps this will be the same case but with the cube.

That was the last I heard of it too. However, it was listed as Q4 on the Nintendo NA website before. It said that even after it was put on the Wii list in Japan. Now it says "Announced". It strikes me as odd that they'd bother changing the GCN version's release date, but not bother removing it entirely. I hope it is a dual release, because that would also give me hope for Bongo Blast.

Well, to be fair, Nintendo did release Twilight Princess on the Gamecube as they promised they would. However, in the case of Super Paper Mario, it was announced for Gamecbe first, then for Wii as well, but as far as I can tell, the Cube version is gone and it'll be a Wii exclusive (it's been since removed from EB's Gamecube preorder list after it didn't show up on their original marked date, 1/1/07).

Right but they delayed it past the Wii version even though the Wii version was the one that required extra work.

Surprise surprise, Nintendo is a company. They delayed Twilight Princess on Gamecube because it sold more Wiis. Nintendo doesn't care about you. Microsoft doesn't care about you. Sony doesn't care about you. They care about money, and delaying the Gamecube version gave Nintendo the most money. Every one of these companies is doing what they think will rake in the most cash; no one of them is more evil than the next.

Man it sure is great to be a cube owner, nintendo has given us gobs of great games for the past two years haven't they? It's like impossible to keep up with all the new stuff they have been throwing at us.
