Broken Wii Remote

My friend and I were playing Rayman yesterday, specifically the soccer game where you shake the remote and the nunchuk to run up to the bunny holding the ball, then kick the bunny into the net (fricken hilarious), and my friend was running up to the ball and all of a sudden his guy just stopped, and we couldn't get him to go again.  We could go back to the menu and see that his pointer still worked, but then we went to the game where you ring a bell with each hand to direct the bunny, and one of the bells wouldn't stop ringing, even without touching the remote.  I am hoping that somehow the problem will fix itself, but I got an extended warranty on my Wii from Gamecrazy (required for a pre-order of a new system there), so I should be OK either way.  Has anyone else heard of anything like this or have any suggestions before I go use up my warranty on this remote?

I literally played the Wii for about a minute until I slung it into the metal on my jacket zipper. My friend was getting progressively more annoyed with me as he shook it, tried to recalibrate it and powered down the Wii a few times. After 7 or 8 minutes, it finally worked again and I wasn't allowed to touch it again.

Pretty weird. Also, check your batteries. And brush your teeth. And wear clean underwear

Hey, I change my underwear a couple times a week just like everybody else.

Paul-

I had the same problem with Wii sports. The motion sensing quit but the pointer still worked. Try taking your Wiimote and give it a firm slap on the back with your palm. It worked for me. Maybe some little bugger gets "caught" somwhere and that frees it.

Sorry for the double post, but I was able to trouble shoot a little bit with Wii boxing and accertain that the motion sensing on the nunchuck still worked, showing that at least it was still transmitting data. Anyway, give it a shot.

I also heard that the controller works on batteries and that they are dead really soon. anyone experienced this?
