I like the FAQ. It allows readers to know that you are objective in your reviews and do not have a vested interest in any party, except to the readers and yourself as a gamer. Objectivity is imperative in any site/writing that is opinion-based. This FAQ reinforces this fact that your site/reviews have already established.
From writing\hosting a few websites of my own from time to time, the general misnomer "...this guy has all the time in the world to devote to this and they have to be making a pretty good penny for running it..." sometimes does exist. I can understand fully that the add-links barely cover the cost of running this site (actually, I am very surprised they do). It is important to let the readers know why you maintain\run this site - for the pure passion and fun of video games - the same reasons they visit this site. Your FAQ does communicate this effectively.
I would move the link to the FAQ further up in the webpage so that it is more easily accessible (so one does not have to scroll down to see it), and set it apart a bit from the general articles. IMHO, it deserves it's own 'section'. A tag line might be good too under the TVGC logo on the main page to emphasize your objectivity. Shooting from the hip here, but something like "The Average Joe's Guide To Video Gaming" or "Regular Guy : Objective Reviews : Video Game God".
You get the picture.
Another thought might be to have your own avatar instead of the Mario character in the main logo. Something along the lines of a working stiff toiling away at his every day job with one hand (maybe in front of a PC) and his head turned to the right and a joystick/gamepad in his hand and playing a game. Just a thought.
Anyway, great job on the FAQ\site.
