Gears of Wars Vs. Resistance
People constantly want to compare these two titles and its not really a fair comparision. You are comparing a first generation PS3 game, which was probably rushed a little to make the launch date, to a second generation 360 title. The fact that you can even mention Resistance in the same breath as Gears of War is a compliment to that title. I will be more interested to see how both of the sequels evolve into even better games.

Gears of Wars Vs. Resistance
Resistance: B+ (it's quite good, but definitely not great)

Gears of war A+, resistence of C+.

I think we need to invent a new grade for Gears. Since A+ isn't high enough, let's use the & symbol. From this moment on, when a game is actually better than perfect, we'll give it a &.

Gears of Wars Vs. Resistance
I haven't played Resistance but it doesn't look like it even compares to Gears.
-No voice chat in multiplayer.
-Didn't revolutionise the control scheme for a whole genre.
-Worse AI.
-Worse plotline.
-Not as good multiplayer modes.
-No active reloads.
-The graphics aren't even close.
The two are very different types of game anyway.

I agree whole heartedly with this course of action. And I had no idea that their was no chat in multi that's funny, what the hell were they thinking?

Gears of Wars Vs. Resistance
VGC Grades:
GOW: A (I think it is only an A myself but A+ if you consider the outstanding online co-op mode)
Resistance: A (this is a solid title in its own right, I really like the online play and the weapons)

I'd almost understand if Metroid Prime 3 didn't have this, as, like it or not, the whole online thing is pretty new to Nintendo. Even there though, I thought having limited voicechat out of game on the DS Metroid Prime was lacking. I felt that, from a handheld you can get for $100, on a $40 game.
However, this from a $600 console, from a company that has been doing online gaming on computers and consoles forever now, is just beyond terrible.

Well yeah, it's on the PS3. Is this a surprise?
Resistence has the same feeling to me tat Killzone did. Remember Killzone was on the covers of magazines and stuff right next to Metroid Prime 2 and Halo 2. Sony magazines and the like hyped that game all over th place. The whole time it felt like a way of making sure that with both other consoles dropping huge FPS games, Sony didn't get lost in the shuffle, despite the fact that the game doesn't compare that well to the other two offerings.
This time Ninendo's new console was launching with a killer ap. (a new Zelda game), and the 360 had it'sfirst or second killer ap (depending on wht you think of Oblivion) coming out around the same time. Fall of Man feels like a game that was done just to have something to wave around.
However, I haven't played it; I'm only saying how this feels like the Killzone thing, and I know Killzone wasn't that good.
