I have to say that I prefer old games to be left alone, and personally do not like updates, but maybe that's just because it reminds me that I'm getting old. There are some sites, like ATARIPROTOS.COM that have NEVER updated, and I like it that way.
That said, on MY tiny iMac monitor the right bar is now too SMALL! I can barely read it. The white on light blue doesn't work either. Everything is too close together now... you need to spread things apart a bit.
*Sigh* ... can't it just be 1982 forever!?

It's not that great, but I don't mind it. I would rather see it incorporated into the left sidebar though.

Sorry dude.... I don't like them either. I think its the lack of lines... finding the forums are harder for newbies
I think the controller banner is awesome. Good job Mark

I actually really like it. Everyone else is crazy. The old bar looked like it was slapped together as an after thought.

I do kind of like the new navigation bar, but something seems a little off. I think it's the colors. They seem a little too bright when compared to the colors on the left side.

snakeboy's right. The devil is in the details. One of the reasons why people don't like it is that the frame isn't consistent with the rest of the site.
It's a great attempt at sprucing things up. A couple of suggestions, change the green you're using to match up with the green in the left frame.
Use the following:
R:27
G:33
B:63
HTML: #1ccb00
The same goes for your blue background shade as well. It's a different shade.
Use the following:
R:28
G:203
B:0
HTML: #1b213f
Swap those values in and most people will stop griping.
Next, see if you can curve the edges as the rest of your site has curved edges. The content of the bar looks great. It's just the little things are throwing people off. I love the layout, keep up the good work. Feel free to tell me to stick it as well.

PS I'd probably be able to waste more of my time here if the top frame scrolled down with the rest of the page.
just saying...

Forgot to add in one other bit. When you count the pixels the frame is 4 pixels in width vs 3 pixels in width for the left/top box. Again, feel free to completely ignore this message but matching them up will improve the aesthetic quality of the site.
