For stylus games, all I can add are FEEL THE MAGIC and POLARIUM, a great puzzle game-IF you can still find these!

However, New Super Mario Bros. and Super Princess Peach are absolute MUST HAVES for the DS for ANYONE!

If you want a great RPG pick up Mario & Luigi Partners in Time. The game is really funny and the battles are quite fun. It should keep you busy for 20 hours or so.

I'm addicted to Advance Wars: Dual Strike. I've played a total of 70 hours and I have yet to get tired of it. Well worth the buy.

Is that really all you can add Alienblue? Are you sure your not forgetting a little gem called Zookeeper? I think we can all agree that it's much more addictive than Polarium, and it's all stylus control, too.

a, you mean this guy bought a DS and not ZOOKEEPER!?

Owning a DS without Zookeeper is like having NES and no Super Mario, or a 2600 and no Space Invaders!

BUY ZOOKEEPER IMMIDIATLY! That's an order, suggestively speaking.

Seconded. That game is criminally underrated.

Also, Kirby Canvas Curse, Feel the Magic, Warioware (the DS game is the worst in the series, though, and it's not as good as Feel the Magic) and Trauma Center.

If you liked Hotel Dusk, you might also want to give the sorta-prequel Trace Memory a go. And the Phoenix Wright games, of course.

Ok, I've been wanting to post this for some time.  I really enjoy my DS, but I have 2 questions...

 

(1) Why doesn't (or the PSP) have a built in program for saving and keeping lists, notes, drawings, etc..   Seems like a very easy program and would be cool to have.

 

(2)  Also, why not a cable that allows you to play it on your TV?  I know that the GBA had a player that connected to your Gamecube, but with all those $20 'plug and play' games, I'm surprised that the DS doesn't have this feature.

Voor-my guesses to your DS queries...

1) They wanted to get the DS out ASAP, so simply did not have time to program anything like that.

2) Money. V/A outputs would cost $ to put in the DS, and drive the system over $200. In addition, the DSlite and GBA micro show they want these things as teeny tiny as possible. V/A outputs and hardware would make the DS much heavier and bulkier. And seriously its a PORTABLE!, how often would you really hook it up to a big screen? On the DSlite at least the screens are big enough to see everything fine.

Outside of the Sega NOMAD, I cant recall many portables being directly TV or monitor compatible.

Well I knew there was at least one big fan of that game on here, and that he actually considers it to be one of his favorite games of all time.  So I didn't want to steal his thunder.

The slow pace fits Castlevania games though. They're more about atmosphere, not speedy arcade action. I wouldn't want to rush through a Castlevania IV stage like I would a Sonic stage.

 

I do tend to prefer the more arcadey Castlevanias rather than the Metroid style. Havent tried the new DS game or Dracula X yet.
