I don't think the DS could be played on a big screen. If the game has any sort of touch features that require looking at the touch screen that would mean you would need to look down at the DS while you are trying to look at the tv.

(2) Also, why not a cable that allows you to play it on your TV? I know that the GBA had a player that connected to your Gamecube, but with all those $20 'plug and play' games, I'm surprised that the DS doesn't have this feature.

That would clash with the way the system works. Not only does it have two screen, which wouldn't really work with a TV, but you're often drawing or pointing at the bottom screen, which doesn't work at all if it's on a TV. I can't think of a single game that doesn't require the stylus (not gameplay-wise, but the way the game works now... New Super mario Bros. could easily be redesigned to work without the stylus, but the way the game is currently designed, you need the stylus to access stored items).
And if you're thinking about only vieweing the top screen on the TV while using the DS as a controller... well, what would be the point? you'll still have to refer to the controller constantly.
The PSP, however, would work just fine.

Ya'll are right, I didnt think about that. I guess it's because none of the games I enjoy use the stylus.
