Franchises run into the ground?
Try Mega Man X-X4, the four Mega Man Zero games, Mega Man ZX, or the PSP remakes, they're all excellent games.
And Pokemon certainly shouldn't go away. It's a very involving and complex game that is being pretty much redesigned completely each new genereation. Try to get a bit more involved wit hthe game before condemning it, it's the most well-designed competitive RPG out there today.

Mario Party is a great party game to play with a girl and her girlfriends or a double date thing, but sheesh.... why is this game released EVERY YEAR???
I also think that there needs to be a Mario Party Greatest hits with all the best minigames from the whole series. I'm also pissed that DK is not a selectable character. If they never made another Mario Party, though... I'd be OK with that.

Heh, my brother in law calls Mario Party "The Dumbest Game of All Time." This is, of course, becase my sister loves it and has her annoying friends over to play it.
I've never played Mario Party, due to it perhaps damaging my "male" credentials
. That might change when the series comes to Wii, however.

I think if Mario Party got rid of the boards and the button mashing games it would be a decent C maybe even B game, but waiting for the computer to takes its turn and desperately trying to smash A to win a game ruins it for me.

Humm, maybe the problem is is that developers release to many sequels on the same system. The good ones--Mario, Zelda, even Mario Kart--usually only have one game per system.
Plus, maybe it builds up hype even more between the years....

One Mario Kart every gen is fine, since it's based around multiplayer. Zelda usually has two every gen, and I find that pretty good as well.
But a single Mario game each gen pisses me off, because it's usually right at the start. Actually, it probably pisses me off more that we gets tons of Mario spinoffs instead of an actual Mario game. I mean, Luigi spinoffs would be fine, bu sports games? The Mario Sports games aren't bad, but I just find that they cheapen the Mario name.

Conn, I couldn't agree more. I was reading some info on SMG and though it looks really fun, it didn't excite me as much as it should have. I think with all of the Mario Parties(8 now!! Jesus!), Mario Basketball, Baseball, Tennis, Golf, Soccer, Mario Kart, the guest appearances in SSX, NBA Street, etc. just make the Mario name as generic as can be. I'll still pick SMG up, but I do wish they'd stop already with the spin-offs!
