I would suggest buying both versions of the game. The only thing is, that if you get the Wii version second you are going to have to go through the tedious first couple of hours of the game...twice You might be tempted not to play through the Wii version if you already played the cube version. Those first couple of hours will really test your patients.
My suggestion is to just wait for your Wii. You've already waited this long...whats another few weeks to a month?
[QUOTE=The Video Game Critic]Well, the VGC is still waiting to get a Wii, but hopefully that will change in the next month or two. In the meantime, I noticed the GameCube version of the new Zelda (Twilight Princess) at Best Buy. Is this a worthwhile purchase, or should I just wait for my Wii? As a collector, I'm tempted to pick up both. Please advise!

I would hit the box stores up on Sunday mornings, if you can. That is usually when they put out the new shipments of consoles. My father in law scored one at Best Buy last Sunday. Didn't have to wait in line... just had to be there when the store opened.

I bought both and I am glad I did. Admittedly, the control scheme is more natural and fun on the Wii version, and the Wii version has widescreen, but playing the game on the Wii first and then on the GC really freaked me out, given that the entire world in one is a mirror image of the world in the other.
This is the most well known bug:

Strange bug. All I'll say about this is that I've played through the Wii version twice now, and the Gamecube version once, and I have yet to run into any bugs on either of them. I'd assume this is very obscure.
I need to correct that actually, I do think there is one annoying bug -- when you find a 5-rupee piece, once each game, it feels like it needs to announce that to you in grand fashion. Even if you save, restarting the game from that save file still announces the special 5-rupee discovery once as if it were your very first time. Of course, that's a very minor problem, and other than that, I didn't run into anything significant.
Having seen this, I suggest that anyone who plays the game read up on any documented bugs. This bug looks very much like it would annoy the living hades out of me if I had actually ran into it. I would do that and still play the Wii version, because the Wii controls do add that much more value to it, especially on aiming the boomerang, bow, etc.

That was a bug? In that case I guess I did run into bugs. That drove me insane! It was about once every 5 blue rupees that the game announced it to me. I guess it didn't detract from the game that much, but it was a very annoying 2 second pause that occasionally happened during battles.
Yeah, the 5 rupee bug, haha. I love it when your the wolf and you pick one up. He sits on his butt and looks up at it, like such a good dogggy!
I have a Wii (now, by chance,) but I got the GC version for Christmas. I have no plans to pick up the Wii version anytime soon, but I would ask those who have it or both, are the double clawshots smoother to use on the Wii version? An example of a cool idea that wasn't executed as well as it should have been. Not fast enough!

They're awesome in the Wii version. I thought they were one of the coolest Zelda items ever because they controlled so well. You can go from one spot to the next instantly with the Wii controls.
