My friend just called me 15 minutes ago, elated about how much he is enjoying Trilight Princess (I talked him into a Wii and TP even though he hoped to avoid them, Zelda nut that he is), but how much he hates it right now. Apparently, he reached the room where you find the giant broken cannon, and figured it was a good place to save before he went to bed (this is to the best of my memory of his description). The next day, he said he was in the room, and the guy was no longer there, but when he tried to warp with the gun, Midna would say that he can't do it there or someone will see him, as if the guy was still in the room, and when he tried to walk out the door, someone would tell him he can't leave yet. He said he messed around for an hour before hegot online to find an answer, which was that this is a well known problem, and the best solution is that someone out there played right up to before you enter the room and saved the game, then made it available for download online for people with this problem. Has anyone else heard of this or heard of a better solution?

Bad Twilight Princess glitch...
I can't verify this at all, but a friend of mine from Gamespot told me the other day when I was showing him this error that the guy is actually there, you just can't see him. Which means you have to find him blindly and attempt to talk to him. Doing so will actually work out the bug.
Don't quote me on that one. Since I don't want to play the game again up to that point to see if that works, could your friend try that out before he erases his save file?

He told me that he tried to do that for about a half hour, but who knows, maybe he just didn't hit the spot.

Everything I've read makes it sound like your friend is out of luck, this is the first I've heard of being able to talk to him without seeing him. GameFaqs doesn't have anything for getting around it either, so I tend to think you can't.
