Well gee, Shawn, Nintendo has sold around 240+million systems(handhelds included) and you seem to think they're crap so what's wrong with somebody turning the tables a bit? It's funny how you can dish it out at every opportunity but can't take even the slightest jab at your system. Dave may have said that wrong, people may want the system but who has $600 to pull out of their butts? As I have said, I don't plan on "mowing more lawns" to buy a video game system for double the price of the competition! The games that I really want for PS3 just so happen to be coming out for the 360....also, I'm not counting on Metal Gear Solid 4 to be a Sony exclusive forever so what's the point? All you are investing in is a brand name! Also, the same thing that happened with Nintendo will inevitably happen to Sony....they'll make a stupid move, lose their third parties to the competition(most likely Microsoft....sorry, Nintendo fans, but it just is not going to happen for them) and have to rely on their first party companies to produce the bulk of their library. It's not me slamming Sony, it's the truth. It happened to Atari, it happened to Sega, it's been happening to Nintendo for the past two generations! Sony is really not doing anything better than the other greats in gaming already did. They started off as the underdog(just as Nintendo, Atari, and Sega once did), they became the undisputed leader(Atari, Nintendo), cockiness set in(Sega, Nintendo, Atari, and pretty much any company that held the top spot) and now this may be the moment they slide. Trust me, Shawn, I'm not licking my lips, anticipating that to happen...I could care less. Though I would love for some of Sony's most diehard fans to shut up already. You see, unlike Nintendo freaks who know the company made mistakes and still does and will most likely never see the top again, most Sony fans I know treat it like some stupid war to end all wars.
So what if Dave made a truthful observation about the ps3. Dave wasn't slamming the quality of the software(it's there...it's just not for me). $600 is a good price for a computer, it's a fair mortgage payment, it's just not a good price for a mainstream video game system...regardless of how many bells and whistles it has. Face up to the facts, Sony's arrogance is going to unseat them eventually.
