Wow, blood is really important. I'm sooooo dissapointed that that there isn't blood in Red Steel. Blood really affects gameplay, so I'm just burning up inside that Red Steel has no blood. What hypocrisy. Without a doubt, every game that uses a color and doesn't liberally represent that color in the game, must therefore be a terrible game. What sound logic.
*ahem*
Yeah, I've been playing a bit more Red Steel this weekend, and I'm starting to like it more and more. I honestly think I was buying into the immense negative hype some people have for the game. It happens. If games can be positively hyped, then the reverse can be true.
There are a few features that I didn't quite get before (my Wii busted and had to be replaced by Nintendo, so I had a "wii-less" period of about two weeks in January), and now that I know how to use them, the game is definitely more fun. It has a "bullet time" type variant that allows you to not only kill your enemies, but also disarm them, earning you "respect" points. I dig the fact they give you the choice to play the game a little differently.
I'll write an official review update soon, *if* I don't change my mind again (-:
