Mouse Trap for the Intellivision

I'm reviewing Mouse Trap for the Intellivision, and it's a nice little game except I'm having some issues with the sound effects. Whenever I eat a piece of cheese, the screen briefly flashes and makes a noise that sounds like static. Could I have a defective copy of the game? The rest of the sound effects sound good. I'm playing on an Intellivision I console.

You sure its not supposed to do that? Its been a while since I've played it or the Colecovision versions, but perhaps its the Intellivision attempt to make it sound like the mouse is barking or whatever like in the 2600 version?

Just to make sure I don't sound like a idiot to someone unfamiliar with the game that thinks I think mice bark, its when you turn into a dog so you can eat cats.
