I look at it as similar to gratuitous nudity in movies and TV. Occasionally nudity and/or sex can add something to the story, but usually it's just done to get teenage boys to look.
A good example of this is the Game of Thrones TV series. They had tons of nudity and sex in that show, but I can think of maybe only two or three times where it made a lot of sense and actually added to the story.
I wouldn't say sex in videogames "turns my stomach" though - for me, it just seems silly and tacked on.

I think Game of Thrones is a good example. The series was really great but the sex and nudity seemed completely gratuitous. It's an if HBO has nude/sex requirement for each of their shows, and it just detracts from the story. I can handle nude women but I never want to see a nude man. That's just gross.

Seasons 1 - 7.

It seems every series I get into does this. Watched Tudors recently and then Versailles and it is the same thing, lots of clothes off.

If Van Damme was in GOT you would have got his customary rear end shot

Being a longtime Van Damme fan, my tacit approval of this leaves me feeling confused and ashamed.

When you consider the target audience (lonely males ages 18-29), it seems pretty predictable that things would go this route. I mean, duh.

Video games need more sex. Why not?
It’s bad to see a woman’s breasts. It’s ok to blow a guys head off with a gun.
Society has really messed with values and morals. Does anybody think for themselves?

Alternatively,
It’s good to pretend to blow a guys head off instead of really doing it. Fake violence > Real violence
Fake sex < Real Sex.
