Wii set to get Manhunt sequel

Nintendo's family oriented system is already seeing far more M rated games than the Gamecube. The latest game to be named is sequel to the infamous Manhunt. It will be Rockstar's first time developing for a Nintendo system. The game is also going to be released on the PS2 and PSP.
Rumors swirled around for months that Rockstar would be bringing the GTA series to the Wii, but it seems that they are content in bringing the 2nd game in the uber-violent series to the system instead. If Manhunt 2 does well enough on the Wii, expect to see more Rockstar support and probably more M rated games as well.
What do you guys think of this? Any thoughts on how Rockstar will put that Wiimote to use?

This can't possibly be true. The Wii isn't supposed to get any third party support at all.

I think I would feel pretty uncomfortable re-enacting physically such acts of violence though. Condemned was pretty much as far as I want to go in terms of sadistic behaviour. Still it's been a good few years since a Nintendo console saw Rockstar love so I guess this is a good sign.

I think it is step in the right direction but I'll believe it when I see it. Also, these games are also going to the PS2 and PSP. I think that is kind of scary when there are no games on the Wii, PS3 and 360! At least done well. Still, good move but the Wii is a long ways away from getting decent 3rd party support.

And maybe they can even remember that their games don't have to be violent to be good if they developr for Nintendo. Remember Space Station: Silicon Valley? Same great Rockstar sense of humor and gameplay, but none of the blood.

Yeah, Silicon Valley was a great game. It was a little glitchy, and pretty ugly as well, but it made up for it with its great concept and gameplay. You control a small computer chip that belonged to a robot which broke apart when a rocket crashed. The only way you can survive is by controlling animals such as sheep, rats, bears, penguins, and kangaroos (my personal favorite is springy sheep). The game has a few frustrating parts, but it is a blast overall.

They also created Body Harvest for the N64...Anyone who has a N64 would be wise to pick up that game. Also back in the day Rockstar was known as DMA Design. Regardless of what you think of the content of their games, its hard to argue with the success the company has had.
Check out this article on ign... Body Harvest is ranked 9th and Space Station Silicon Valley is ranked 5th.

I read that top ten list before, and I must say I was really impressed by it. All 10 of the games they listed are really good, and have cult status. It's nice to see Silicon Valley get some love.

Yeah Silicon Valley got good reviews at the time and I second the Body Harvest recommendation, that game is awesome.
