LASER BLAST, people, Laser Blast. I've seriously never played anything that comes even remotely close in sheer unfun-ness, and I've played a lot. How that horrible awfulness made it to it's release is beyond me.

I'm not really familiar with the Virtual Fighter character either, but I think most people are, and it looks great. Nice change.

Lau isn't very well known these days. Akira and Kage are far more recognised.

I honestly don't recognise the guy either, but I don't like many fighting games, so.

Also, it's still the Unreal Dude on the banners page. Just thought you should know.

Yeah, I kept it that way on purpose due to the commentary. I'll add the new banner when I update that page.

The "bad guys" suggestion spawned in my mind an awesome idea for Dave and Mark: A "BOSS" BANNER! Like that monster from "Shadow of Collossus" it'd be great to have the likes of M. Bison, Mr. Big from "Smash TV," Dr. Robotnik from "Sonic," the robot ape from "Strider 2," one of the alien monsters from "R-Type" (or "Gradius") or any assortment of bad guys you care to think of. Brilliant, isn't it?

Okay, just a quick explanation why I choose Lau...

I couldn't find a better picture.

Yeah, that's a lame reason. But honest to God, I couldn't find a good side-view picture of any of the Tekken, Virtua Fighter, or Resident Evil guys (except Lau). I Google-imaged the heck out of it...to no avail. I wanted someone from the Saturn/PS1/N64 era, but the games are just old enough that there aren't alot of pics of them on the 'net (at least not good pictures).

What can I say?

That's a perfectly fine reason to me. You got the right era, and it has the right pose. It's not like everyone is going to recognize every character you put up there. I think we're all happy as long as it looks good.

Okay, Mark's latest masterpiece - female evolution - is up and in rotation. Go to the banners page if you want to check it out without having to click refresh a million times.

There are two versions. I opted for the girl from Donkey Kong version, although Samus from Metroid probably makes more sense chronologically. What do you guys think??

So, video game females have evolved into bikini-clad volleyball babes. You've come a long way, baby!

When I saw the new banner, I felt there was something a little off. And I think it's the fact that the Lara Croft picture is cut off below the waist. In my opinion a full body pic would look better. (Perhaps you had difficulty finding one?)

Also, VGC, I like the banner with the Donkey Kong girl more, also. I think Samus doesn't work because she isn't obviously female.
