Re: Time to change my review style?
I'm up to the R's in the Xbox 360 section, and this has been tough sledding!
A few observations. My reviews fall into a very distinct pattern. It usually only takes me a few seconds to break them down into four paragraphs or so.
The N section is the worst with all those NBA/NHL/NCAA games. Those reviews are highly repetitive. And boy am I cranky, nitpicking about every little thing.
Funny how it was around this time when the manuals began to get skimpy and I started giving publishers HELL about it. Ironically I may have inadvertently hastened their demise with this sort of rhetoric. In the Wii section I think I complained about a manual being TOO LONG. LOL

Finally finished the 360. I suspect things will get a little easier from here, although the PS2 section will be a bear.

It really helps with the Animal Crossing review; the original wall of text was an ironic way to complain about a game being too wordy. ;p
Also, I've really enjoyed rereading these. They're like getting hundreds of new reviews at a time, because I can finally read them for enjoyment, rather than roughing through it all like a homework assignment.

Pixelated - thanks for the feedback! It really makes me feel good about putting in the work!
It really does change the complexion of the reviews, as I can group thoughts together without everything running into each other!
Hopefully some of the people who were afraid of the "walls of text" will give the site another chance one day.

I got my copy of Brett Weiss NES Vol 1 today, and it is interesting seeing these reviews in print. Will be interesting to see the "classic" system reviews updated

What I think is that the best 1,000 games for example aren’t getting talked about much. It’s like that in a lot of things. If I go to a friends house and the last 3 times I talked about the same thing you naturally want to start a new conversation.
It’s those 100-1,000 best games that aren’t getting talked about because it’s pretty much been covered.
I definitely think doing something like best FPS of 90’s things would be really cool. I remember a poster thought it would be cool to do a best tennis games list.
